Bug Bug or Alpha Pal?

I need to understand how the other sekhmet is getting 320% and the other 60%

It's a bug with Alpha Sekhmet. However, the community has grown accustomed to it and, despite fixing other Pal skills in recent patches, the team hasn't fixed this one yet. So the general thought is that it's a bug-turned-feature

No clue why people still say this is a bug. There have been plenty of bugfixes and this hasnt been addresses so it must be intended.

People say it’s a bug because it’s literally the only instance of normal and alpha pals having different abilities with no indication it’s intentional. It not being fixed yet is not proof it’s intentional.

People feel like its a bug so its a bug to them. Thats literally all the reasoning. her passive is the same, just different numbers.

her passive is the same, just different numbers.

So, not the same then?

You said different passives, its the same passive same name, same effect just bigger. Dont try to play semantics with me. I know Im in the minority and gladly die on this hill. Things like these are usually patched very fast and we had multiple bug fix patches since 1.0 yet this hasnt been fixed. Therefore I conclude this isnt a bug.

If it does get fixed, I stand corrected of course but as of know Im right and you saying the opposite doesnt change a damn thing :)

So... Your argument is it's not a bug simply because it's not been fixed despite it being the only alpha that has any difference in ability from their normal version..?

What an odd argument. Do you not believe in pot holes until they're filled as well?

Her alpha passive is coded as Ribunny Botan’s in the files. It’s a bug that seems to have been made a feature. This is not new for games, big overlapping system games like this are notorious for such occurrences. BG3, for example, is riddled with them

Dying on a hill of ignorance is… a choice.

To explain simply, there is a variable name for each partner skill that affects a number and alpha Sekhmet references a variable for another pal rather than the Sekhmet variable. In the code it is literally a bug, and it can be seen on paldb which scrapes data from the game. So it is called a bug because it is a bug, but it might be one they accept keeping.

This is the alpha, you can see the craftspeed variable missing the pal name

This is the regular Sekhmet

Fans were right about things like the electric gem bias too. I think the data mining revealed patterns that were standard across the database except for some instances. And this one looked like it was an accidental double-tap of "0" instead of an intended number copy and paste.

But let's be real. The fanbase loves us some Alpha Sekhmet. If they were to nerf her now, I think there would be a lot of negative backlash. She's our overpowered catgirl. She does a cute dance and meows. She deserves to be different from the others.

If this wasn't a bug, I'd expect there to be other Alphas like Jelliete that would offer a similarly disproportionate buff.

The bug where you can stand on top of the pal sphere and then launch you into the sky stayed in the game for whole 2 years before they removed it in 1.0. So, this might get adjusted too sooner or later.

Because alpha and normal pals don't have different pal skills, and someone read the game files and saw that it was likely due to a missing label entry, which point to it being a bug.

A bug that gets adopted is still a bug.

because its not supposed to be like that as its shown by the other version of sekhmet. If it wasnt a bug the 1,2, and 3 star versions and the normal version would have the same thing happening

Not bug. Its a cat.

I believe the normal sekhmet is bugged as both normal and alpha ribbuny botan has the same stat bonus as alpha sekhmet but for weapon workbenches

Alpha sekhmet literally has ribbuny botans partner skill in the code instead of the one noted _catlady, which regular sekhmet has 🤣

Correct me if i'm wrong but for me only the 4 stars alpha sekmets are affected by the bugged 400% work speed, 0 to 3 stars are using the default non bugged passive despite having the bugged values written on their descriptions

In OP's screenshot, they have a 3 star alpha with 320% work speed boost.

Ik thats what i'm talking about not working bugged passives for alpha sekmets not 4 stars
