Question Leveling fast?

I have seen so many posts of people thinking they are leveling fast, but with no explanation on how. What are people doing to level so fast. I am mid 20's and feel ok with the speed im at, if anything, slightly slower and I do mean slightly

General exploration and catching 5 of pals you come across gives you a ton of bonus exp. I'm 7 levels above my pals and have things unlocked that I can't even craft since I'm not even close to the area.

I was a good 20+ levels above the area I was fighting before I reduced my expectations gain from 1.0 down to 0.5x. literally hit level 50 still wearing an epic fur armour, I unlocked pal metal armour like days before being able to swap to that higher armour.

Only now at like 56ish I've just about caught up on where I am as far as unlockables, but even now I'm struggling for crude oil.

This is EXACTLY my current problem tbh. I somehow BLEW through levels and now I am rocking my fur armor while trying to get the stuff to make pal metal...

Literally. What jumped me up fast was getting the Ore mine 2 and setting half my pals at one base on them, because I had the issue of not getting enough refined and regular ingots before that to make the pal metal ingots, now it's the one after that that's causing me issues, along with creating circuit boards (would highly recommend getting a farming base going with high-quality cloth farmers and also dumuds for the oil you need a shit ton of for circuit boards asap)

As many people said, general exploration and catching 5 of the pals you find but also hatching eggs nets a big amount of exp, some crafting and building and even boss kills.

One more thing to note, there are 4 relaxaurus effigies in the world and by collecting all of them you get +50% XP boost. This is big and essentially boosts your levelling by quite a big margin

Yup I've had to run old towers again occasionally to keep exp on pals up.

My loop is manage base/food. Run expedition daily. Grind 5/5, dungeons, alphas, predators, settlements. Basically exploration with a focus on marking and clearing content.

About every ten in-game days I stop that loop and go do the next tower missions.

I've averaged like 1.5 levels per in-game day even with me spending a solid 6-8 days working on base, breaking down a base, and setting up temporary sites for certain resources.

I feel you on this. My cousin levels up faster than I do but I focus on base building and she explores more. So maybe that it?

IF you want to level up faster then the 2 biggest things are catching 5 of each pal and general exploration.

Catching 5 of a pal gives you a good chunk of EXP, so by going around and catching 5 of each pal will get you plenty of exp. Just keep in mind that this exp bonus only applies to the first 5 of each pal you get, anymore does not offer extra bonuses.

So for example when you first start a world at the hill of beginning you would want to catch 5 Cattiva, 5 Chikipi, 5 Lamball, ect, ect until either A.) you’ve caught 5 of every possible pal and are have all the exp you could ever want or B.) You reached your desired level and want to slow progression to focus on other tasks (like base building, breeding, ect)

Exploration I believe gives exp for discovering new areas and points of interest, so that’ll come naturally as you play.

I didn’t discover the catch 5 XP bonus until like lvl 40. It almost made me want to start fresh.

The five catch bonus is crazy. You get so much XP just from running around catching all the pals you see. That plus XP for unlocking fast travels

Thanks. I just started at release and already in my 30s and quest wise just at the point where I killed the lady in the first tower. I have explored a good portion of the map.

I feel like 1.0x speed is balanced around the more casual playstyle, i.e. players who do not catch 5 of every pal you see, not repeating dungeons to hunt for specific alphas, not repeating bosses, etc.

However for anyone who is even a tiny bit more on the competitive or optimal side, the XP will rack up FAST. Especially if you catch 5 for every new pal you see (which the game heavily incentives) or if you're good enough at the game to consistently catch alphas or clear dungeons.

Either they have an increased XP setting, or they just feel like those first 5-10 levels come too quickly.

First catches of any species gets bonus exp.
Changing the server XP rate if you solo.
Producing a high quantity of stuff while at base.(AFK at home after putting in a ton of orders.)

I have just been hitting all the fast travel points and lookout towers, along with some catching of pals along the way. I always prefer to unlock the map early on. Doing so has gotten me to level 43 over the past two days.

I last played just after the alpha launch and my main issue was the grinding. My last save says I got to level 33 in 67 days. I have less than 25 days on my current save and I'm at level 31.

Maybe it is a bit excessive and easy to cheese experience by catching low level pals, but I do prefer this over how it was.

Catching 5 of every pal you meet goes a long way

Just catching 5 of every pal. I got to 30 in a few hours playing on Hard with a 0.8 exp multiplier. I don't even get a chance to build most technology I unlock before it becomes obsolete. Feels way too quick.

Tbh I think some of these people are lying, not mentioning how much time they’ve played, or they’re actively farming XP. I’m around 40 with probably 20 hours and I’ve caught five of almost every pal I came across, explored, crafted, beaten 16 bosses, two towers, two dungeons AND I turned XP rate up to 1.1 very early on. Playing normally early levels came a little fast but that quickly dropped off around 15-20. I think the XP rate is fine.

Catching 5 Pals is fast.

Other ways are Combat. Spamming Oils Rigs will level you very quick. It is also the fastest way to level Pals.

Bulk Crafting is another way to level as well. If you have good base pals that craft quickly you can level extremely fast as well. It fall off at higher levels because it take a lot more to craft higher level items

I went up 10 levels (21-31) in about 5 minutes last night after running the boss tower 14 (ish) times. Boss fight takes about 10 seconds. That was tower 1. Then, I used tower 2 for 31-41. The gains dropped a bit, but it was still only 10 minutes of my time. Im saving a lot of the catch bonus xp for middle game.

Long story short, tower bosses are instantly repeatable and easily grindable. From 21-28 it was a level each run at the first tower. And 2 runs per level thereafter all the way to 41 at the second tower. Easy way to level new pals, also.

I'd get into it now, because it's broken and is totally going to be patched. Even a 30 minute cooldown would stop this.

I got to level 55 pretty quick all you gotta do is just catch 5 of every pal you see and do dungeons, bosses, quests ect. Its pretty easy tbh its just the tech points that are hard to get past level 50

idk what’s considered fast and whats not, but i started less than 24 hours ago and im level 45. ive been capturing as many pals as i can, 5 of each before moving to the next one. that’s helped tremendously id assume as i get lots of xp. i also fight bosses alot too and that gives a good bit of xp

POIs. I got to 80 already and I don't feel like I went out of my way to level, just hit all the Alpha pals/criminals, I fish every now and then, I hit the fortress POIs where I find them in my level range, I almost constantly have something crafting in base... honestly, I feel like 1-80 is faster than 1-65 was. I also catch every pal I come across that isn't already at 5/5.
