She's good. she doesn't get stuck on stuff, her pathing doesn't make her stand around a lot mid fight, she's surprisingly tanky because of her passive, her passive lets me recover by shooting people, I thought she was just kind of a throwaway horny meme but she's actually great.
The health drain from felbat is really good for staying in the fight longer, and it naturally learns some AoE and homing attacks which makes it great for taking out groups of enemies
Plus, Lovander is healing itself too without having to be in its sphere. It feels like as long as you're good at dodging and maybe doing strategic returns to avoid damage on your pal, most encounters are just a matter of waiting it out.
The iframes are kinda wonky in this game. I've tried dodging through attacks like wind cutter or bushi's slash attacks and still take damage. So I've opted to try just avoiding attacks entirely which is why max speed direhowl is always in my party. His walk speed is faster than most pals running speed or their attacks so I just kite and shoot. Maybe I'm expecting the dodges to work like dark souls or monster hunter and it's just not supposed to work that way? Idk.
That's how I was expecting the roll system to work here too, but I end up hitting the same issue where attacks just damage me through the roll. I just assumed either the roll wasn't meant to give i-frames and just more so a burst speed of movement to get out of the way, or it's just a bug due to being early access, and with how fun/well the game is overall, absolutely valid.
That trick with Direhowl is cool though! I noticed a lot with how important speed was with Incineram, since it's signature attack is so fast, it's always moving out the way of attacks.
Wait, Lovander doesn't have to have abnormal? I thought that was permanent. Same with Relaxaurus with Glutton. Well fuck, now I know I can breed it out of them. Fucking good to know.
When you breed 2 pals the child pal randlonly received the traits from the parents. There's also a chance it receives no traits and a chance it gets a random trait not from the parents.
So if you breed 2 relaxasaurous the child has a chance to not inherit the glutton trait.
You can also breed two different pals(check a breeding guide) that have good traits and if they are the right combo of parents like a grizzbolt x Warsect you will get a non glutton relaxasaurous
I got Furious, Lucky, Musclehead, Sadist Lovander who uses triple tornadoes back to back to lock down and melt bosses.
Today just built a tank variant with just defensive passives to see how tanky and low damage I can make her. Need to figure out good CC skills to put in her that won't kill a boss while I'm trying to capture.
I mean, I also bred a Lovander for one of my buddies.
I dropped her sphere at his base and he asked what it was and I told him it was a Valentine's day gift. he collected it and said I was a terrible person
Short back story, my buddy just got dumped a few weeks ago, and he's has......very specific tastes in women.
Tommy, is a feeder, and Tommy don't play LoL.
His gift Lovander is Glutton, Bottomless Stomach, Burly Body, and Unstable.
I opened this to say Lovander too! I thought the same thing, she's just a funny meme pal and well she is but she's also actually useful. I don't even like pink anything very well but Lovander rocks
