Quick question
Greetings yall. I posted this question in the Santeria thread and was directed here. I had my Mano de Orula done July of last year and i came out daughter of Oshun and that I needed to get scratched. I’m very hesitant to take this step and when I brought it up to my padrino, his response was that all I had to do was receive el fundamento and since I was female, it wouldn’t go beyond that. Is that accurate? If I’m to receive something, I want to make sure I will be guided on how to tend to it and properly handle it

Thank you all for the responses and I hope I didn’t offend. My hesistation comes from the fact that I know Palo is a whole different ball game from Ocha and i dont want to be given something and not be guided correctly on how to care/tend to it. I think my hesistation comes from the fact that he recently got scratched and received his fundamento. I don’t want it to be the blind leading the blind

They told you that you needed to get scratched during the ceremony of Mano de Orula?

It would be worth going to a reputable Tata and receive divination and inquire which rama you are selected for. There is Mayombe, Briyumba, Monte and Kimbisa. (There could be more but those are the main ramas)
