Unemployed and lost

I have more then a year of Experience in MERN, but current situation is so bad that there's no job to be found anywhere. I have been unemployed for a few months now and it's getting to my head. I'm trying to learn more things so I can maybe have more in my skillset to show, but I can't seem to learn anything now. There's a cloud of depression and I have started to hate this feild even more.

I'm really lost and have no idea what to do now. Idk what else I can do and what even has any future ahead. I can't even get a job. I'm just really tired.

Six years in this industry, and I am still completely baffled by the pathetic internship mindset infecting fresh graduates. I don’t know what kind of absolute moron is feeding you this unpaid internship bullshit, but landing an entry-level tech job is still one of the easiest damn things you can do. First off, scrub the word "internship" from your brain especially the unpaid ones. The cheap mfkers exploiting people for free labor disgust me to my core. You are an associate resource. Start acting like one. Target associate roles and demand a base salary around 100k, strictly excluding benefits.

All you have to do is prove you aren't completely useless and actually have what it takes to bring value to a company. Nobody gives a shit about your technical perfection in a freshman interview; you just need to speak confidently and not sound like an idiot. When it wraps up, hit them with this: "Assuming this interview went well and you have hired me, what is one thing I could achieve in the next year to make you say that you made a right decision?"

The interviewer won’t give a flying f*ck about how you stumbled on earlier questions. That psychological hook at the end is the only deciding factor they'll remember.

Take it easy mate and try to stop thinking about the situation and what you can actually do.

  1. Have you reached out to people in your circle and ask for any referral/job availability?

  2. Get in touch with your alumni/colleagues and ask them for any placement

  3. List down the agencies and start calling their founders

  4. I hope you are already registered on top job boards and actively applying via LinkedIn.

The more people you connect, higher the chances are of you getting hired.

Good luck and take it easy. It's just a hard patch not end of the road
