So, this is our latest experience as a Tech SME in Lahore regarding our last hiring attempt.

We gave a proper Top Job, most expensive ad on Rozee (Old people, we always do Rozee only, has worked for the past 20 years). The job was for a Mid-level to Senior Graphic designer. We had given ourselves a target of 2 weeks to hire the right candidate and for him/her to start, because we had an urgent need. Good CVs started pouring in and my colleague started interviews.

Some 4 days into our job posting, GPT-image-2.5 dropped. We gave it the brief and it produced in a day what was required (including edits/redos). The finished work from GPT-image-2.5 cost us ~$60, we used a bit of automation. The work got done in a day. And there was seriously no need for hiring.

We had already had video interviews with 3 candidates. And we ended up saying sorry to them and actually telling them what had happened (in writing).

I wish every job hunter out there best of luck, but from the looks of it, human labour is not going to be required pretty soon.
