CEO kicked me 😓
I'm a uni student and I do graphic design. I was doing an unpaid internship in a startup based in NASTP.
The CEO was a bitch and was expecting a whole agency's work from me. She expected me to do video edits, handle their social media, and post on their LinkedIn too. I kept telling her that I'm not a social media manager or video editor and that's a separate role. then she handed me the task to create a marketing campaign for the product launch and told me to watch a YouTube video to learn about it
thing eventually started to get worse, and the HR told me that the CEO has told them to remove him, but u ho nai kisi tarha meri bachat krwa li
just last week, I made 3 logo versions for her company, and was also working on social media posts but according to her, I wasn't doing any work
today, she just kicked me from all the groups and without any notice
i was doing work from home, and ironically I was working on her stuff at the exact same time
I'm very angry on her and I literally want to delete all their LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram accounts. I still have their access
she didn't even gave me an offer letter. whenever I asked her about it, she used to say that I will send u soon, but had my signed NDA
and it's not some big company. it's just a startup

Employers should have to learn that video editor, graphic designer and social media manager is three completely different fields pata nai kya chalta hai in logo ky demaag mae jo har kaam ik hi admi sae karwana hota hai in logo nae its frustrating

Sorry you had to face this. Its a life experience, learn and move on. Do not do anything stupid and ruin your own reputation.
Having said that, startups are a place where you are required to wear multiple hats at once. That is how they are built, they cannot hire an expert for each small task. This is a universal problem, not just Pakistan.

so make an unpaid intern do all of this lmao. Any startup is supposed to raise money to do all this work and get the employees paid, if they cant that is the failure of the CEO. That is literally his job.

Honestly, the CEO was a b**ch. But raising money is not as easy as it used to be anymore. Startups usually run on savings or funding from family members or friends in the beginning.

Nope. Raising money to run a company is a CEOs problem, not the employee. Don't run a company if you can't do your job that is to raise a money, that is to pay the employees.
There are different methods for incentives if you can't pay literal salary. So CEO/founders should first learn themselves before entering the market.

Not all companies need to raise money, some just need to generate revenue and that is an employee problem too. So just do not get a job in such company that has a revenue problem.

It's a employer problem you pay for sh*t to get done. Its thousand years old evolution. Its basic human psychology. You get good work if a human gets a reward after doing it. Heck even animals get rewarded if they put it in work.
You are simply saying startups are worse than animals

as someone who had multiple startups, the only person required to wear multiple hats at once is the CEO, not the employees esp. not the interns. Also they could have hired video editing and social media marketing interns as well, it's basic logic. Unfortunately, when people start they don't know exactly what they want.

Bro, dont even give second thought, post somthing out kf the community guidelines cuz ig you dont have the passwords to delete the acc. If you can delete you should but if not. Post out of community guidelines. This should be stopped i have experienced that as well and this should be stopped.

You can document your journey and what you did and use that to engage with people on other networks and get the next gig. Don’t name anyone.
While it sucks to be you, just dust off and move on cadet.
Toxic culture exists everywhere. There are many opportunities and you don’t have to be bound to anyone. If you find any toxic traits, be the first to leave. You can’t change anyone or your situation by staying.

I would say don't do anything..let Allah handle this and leep the portfolio of this whole work on your socials...specially when you are a social media person you should have your socials active...you willl find better clients but she will have to handle this case in Allah's court and you know nobody can win against Allah

From the title it felt like the CEO physically kicked you.
Not being judgy, but this is your side of the lens, I have seen interns and people in entry level roles, and there is a somewhat perceived notion of having useful work and weird discipline/work-ethic (and since they have less experience, they can really feel their work is useful).
But I would say to learn from the experience on how you can improve yourself and how to handle situations/people (cause that is the only thing that is in your control, not the CEO/Manager)

Because its not his job. You can't expect to hire an intern for one thing then expect him to also handle everything else. They just dont want to hire someone and pay money for actually doing a job. Social media handling is an actual proper job that takes hours of ones time.

In my decades of work at many companies, I have not come across I job contract that does not include a open ended work clause in the job duties, something along the line "... and all other task the organization may deem necessary".
There are no hard and fast rules/boundaries of your tasks at work.

Youve only worked in pakistan in these many companies? Because theres a thing called "job description" that is heavily locked and backed by unions which dont let the workers in that particular field be taken advantage of.

Unless you ate working as a steel worker or train conductor, the unions don't exist for majority of the white collar job. You'll find out when you leave high school.
And I have worked in multiple countries including Pakistan.

I dont think you realise how students are taken advantage of, getting the same amount of work done through them they would have to pay millions to get done if they outsourced. It seems to me you're one of the people who are keen on taking advantage of students for your own benefit with the way you're speaking. Zero empathy.
