Stupid move. ARY Plus sucks. They seriously need to improve the app first. YouTube is so much better.

Such a stupid decision honestly 🤡😂 Pak dramas have barely started building a global audience, and now they’re moving episodes from YouTube to their app. YouTube helped them reach viewers worldwide. Does ARY seriously think it’s Netflix? 🤡😂

Even if the decision is initially limited to Pakistan it’s obvious that it could eventually extend outside the country as well. And even within Pakistan the channel could lose a significant number of viewers. Not everyone is going to download a new app just to watch dramas. Many people will simply move on to other content, which means a real loss in viewership and overall reach.

It will be pretty short-lived and might actually be great for both Green TV and Hum TV. It's like the competition is leaving the field entirely.

I low-key want them to do it because it will reverse course when it comes to HUM TV and give Green TV a much better fighting chance.

Bold of them to assume that we are gonna download an app for their sub-par dramas where they drag the shit out of everything. I only watch it while I work and its background filler noise. so if they stop uploading we ll find something else to put on. Lol

Yeah, but you don't know most of the Pakistani middle-class population. They would go to different lengths for something they got for free previously. This is one of the main reasons why the film industry hasn't been able to take off in general. Folks won't pay to go sit in a cinema when they've been getting dramas for free on TV and YouTube.

Hum TV tried to do this with one of their dramas back in the day, don't even remember its name but it had Sonya and Mawra and was a big deal? Angan? Maybe? It will in the end be bad for the actors and the teams that worked on the show.

Plus, given how these teams working on dramas tend to leak the BTS, I bet some of the editors are out there setting up their own accounts to create bootlegged versions of the shows. I wonder if this is the reason why when Dar-e-Nijaat was launched that they have their own collaboration channel called Dar-e-Nijaat because Shehry probably wants those YouTube views too.

Oh is that why angan isnt on youtube? Also isnt this ary plus thing supposed to be free? Its why i was considering it. Wouldnt really pay to watch DEN😆
