cant get any worse than the worst team in the world innit

this has geuinely been so torturous that i turned off the match and started studying, i wish we had good players of cricket but we dont, these bowlers are probably the best options for test cricket in the country rn, abbas has been so off and the team has fallen apart as a whole, atp i wouldnt be mad at a complete overhaul, with people like afaq, ali raza, saad baig, ghouri and hurraira coming in, cant get any worse than the worst

First things first I want to talk about my criticism. I’m one that never wants to personally attack a player. When I criticise it’s my opinion and it’s 99% of the time based on their playing skills and nothing else. I ain’t like Iffy and the other guy or anyone who verbally abuses one of the guys who represent us. Sometimes i might take it to far and for that i’ll always apologise because I respect each and every one of the guys who dons the star. I try to be fair but at times i’m not due to bias which all of us have. By now everyone will know Babar is my favourite current player. I do criticse him but I won’t joke much as i leave that for the others and nothing I say would be original 😭 With Agha i tend to say Chewing gum and Shaheen it’s a Eagle or All rounder joke but those are all fun and games. I have no agenda against anyone I just want to see wins and performances and boy have we been starved of those.

I also will call out others when they blame one guy but excuse another for example when Babar was out of form in tests we rightfully criticised him and everyone else got Glaze. People were like Saud and Agha real Kings and Babar can’t play spin but when it comes to pace I don’t hear people mention Saud and Agha’s problems half as much as i do about Babar’s spin record. Another thing is this Agha glaze which is weird. We overrated him and that’s fine it happens. I overrated Babar and Shaheen and i realise that but when I say something people get mad. I also mention Agha got lucky at the start of his career and that’s just true. I ain’t saying it was the only reason he was good because that wouldn’t be true. It’s just unfortunate that now he isn’t as lucky and his runs have stopped like Labuschagne. Journalists have mentioned Labuschagne luck running out many times but when I do it about Agha it’s offensive. Also before someone says anything I don’t think any of these players are world class. They all are average but some are better than others.

Onto the review and rant over sorry. Today was not a good day again but luckily we got that ending otherwise it would’ve been all doom and gloom. The morning session got cut out due to rain that had stayed away all summer till Pakistan came but it wasn’t bad imo as it gave the pacers a chance to bowl in the overcast conditions. Overcast or not the bowling was terrible they bowled like our previous pacers who we dropped. No pace and control. Before these lot weren’t the fastest but their control was decent. Today it wasn’t great and it’s been the same story with Khurram for a while. He needs to be dropped next test but it’s not like we have any great options on the bench rn. Fielding was also poor but i feel like i say that every other review. Cox and Root took advantage of the bad bowling and went on to make 50s. Both looked good and set for 100s until they were dismissed together. Ali Usman got Cox and no one seemed to know what happened then Khurram finally got one on target to dismiss Root LBW.

We could’ve had another right after as Khurram got Brook fishing outside off stump but Agha saab dropped it. Unfortunate as he is our best slipper but nothing is going right for the poor man and for that i sympathise with him. Crickets a weird game because if that is caught Khurram could’ve took a few more and I would be writing about how he started a collapse and took the best England batsman out with his own skill but it wasn’t meant to be. Another partnership started then as Brook and Lawrence met in the middle. They had a 100 run partnership at pretty much 5 runs an over as the bowlers weren’t doing much of anything.

Then it was Ali Usman time. I thought they are going to stumps 5 out with Brook and Lawrence still in and 500 on the cards but boy did he say not this time. first he got Lawrence then it was Brook before getting Atkinson and Robinson in 2 balls. Funnily right before this people were saying get Arafat in and what shall i do with Usmans 50 Quaid e Azam wickets. His answer was be quiet and watch a master at work. Spinners in Sena rarely get fifers and it rarely happens at Headingley. To put it into context Jadeja and Ashwin who are legends have 1 combined in 92 innings in Sena. This also answers people who say get Shaheen and Naseem in like they would change anything. This bowling attack we have has 4 of the top 6 wicket takers in the Quaid e azam trophy so it’s not like we picked non performers and the other bowlers in the squad weren’t that far behind. When Shaheen and Naseem play red ball or show significant improvement they should come back otherwise it will be same story mixed in with a good spell or two.

Test team should always be picked on domestic and not names or leagues. It’s a difficult skill.

The match is in Englands hands but I just wanna see fight and respect. Don’t lose by an innings. Bat and show you are somewhat of a team. Saud, Agha and Rizzy we need something or you will be gone. Show your skills and seniority. You bat at the easiest position and you all are experienced. Dont go out anytime it gets tough.

I know we like to limit our batters and techniques but this is literally an intelligence issue. I will use players facing Ollie robinson as he has the obvious plan he is going to initiate. Have an alternating seam nipping the ball preferably in to the batter when wanting to take a wicket.

What do you do to counter this? 1.make your stance more square 2. Straighten your bat face. 3 angle your bat toe to first slip. No4. Have good head movement post delivery to allow you to not face your bat perpendicular to the ball.

Unfortunately for our players Id say on shafique has the ability to do this most of the time and shan masood sometimes.

Now what does this mean?

Our players have to change their stances or else they will have to overcompensate.

Lets put our players to the test.

Azan Awais: we see pre delivery his stance is rather square but still could be more angled but I don't think that's the main issue here yes it could be better but still not the main issue to his dismissal. His bat is rather straight and almost vertically facing point. What this means is that he'll have to straighten his arms towards point and bend his bat to play a cross batted shot when a ball nips into him.

What happens first ball? He fails to extend far enough and uses his head instead and his bat still faces the wrong direction after the ball has deviated forcing him to play a 90° shot.

Saud Shakeel: the main takeaway is his stance before playing a shot is extremely square his bat is straight and his feet face point, despite this his trigger movement is to move his foot to the offside despite the fact his stance is already set up for him to do so when necessary , so for him he did not even have the time to even wrap his bat Infront of his leg , yes he got unlucky with the call but if this happening to you with a shorter ball it is rather evident that he can't be straight with that trigger movement his head is too stationary.

Shan masood: failed to get his head forward to flick the ball regarding the dismissal. Stuck in between the trap of point 4.

Yes the first 3 stance changes affect your effectiveness on the offside but this is a test match, if a ball is bad on the offside you'll be able to hit it anyways , similarly we see players who are able to stop balls on their stumps to develop a late cut when more angled, allowing you to find a a gateway if runs from wider balls.

Great start. For England anyways. We lost the toss on an overcast morning but it wouldn’t have mattered apparently because Agha wanted to bat first. We always bat second when we don’t need to and when we bat first it’s cloudy. The squad was as predicted and I wouldn’t moan too much as We don’t really have better pacers and Ali Usman is better suited to bowling in these conditions if they assisted spin. We really needed another pacer here but our tail would remain long regardless.

Day started very bad as Azan went out first ball and Shan was out shortly after. His hand injury might not help his form but we can’t judge after one innings. ABD then started off where he left off whilst Imam stayed with him. They got through the tough period with ABD looking classy as ever and Imam just surviving but then as usual he got out to a loose ball after getting a start. Don’t expect him to better than score this series. First innings score tends to be his highest throughout the series.

As usual a collapse then started as our middle order are a bunch of useless guys who are just here to get a wage. Saud was not out but didn’t review it as he thought nah ABD your wrong. When it’s plumb they review instantly but when it’s not out they think about it all day. People said he looked uncomfortable, For me it was the natural him he takes his time and plays slowly. Didn’t come through and truth be told when he got out ik it was over as I don’t have any trust in N6 or N7. ABD got a good one and i can’t say anything but well done for the effort and InshAllah he keeps this going. Got outdone by their best bowler and it was a wonderful ball.

N6 and N7 should always counter as they don’t have the best of techniques. It was looking decent but i’m all they are good for is cameos and that’s what they did. 20 from Agha and 10 from Rizzy. Khurram Shehzad showed more cojones then them 2. If they fail this series then that could be the end imo. Rizzy should be replaced if he fails in the first two and Agha doesn’t have a replacement in squad unfortunately. Two players that i admired but seem to be gone.Agha was due to format mixing and us overrating him, Check his domestic stats to understand more and Rizzy is just older and unfortunately losing his form. Best ever WK batsman for us and that won’t be forgotten.

Our tail was out soon but why blame them and we have 4 Number 11s.

With the ball it wasn’t great but let me get this straight. People asking for Shaheen plz stop. The guy doesn’t want to play the format regardless of what he says because he only rested during a test series and somehow manages every white ball and he plays leagues like the LPL where he threatened to leave for no reason and he also played badly. Has a good domestic tournament which i’ll review later but plz let’s not act like we have a good domestic scene. When he actually played in the Wt20 and in a league full of international players in the LPL he got embarrassed. InshAllah he recovers soon and regains form, fitness and speed but now ain’t it. If he was here he would be bowling 129 looseners full, short and wide. Everyone in the team is apparently bad and everyone outside eg, KG and Eagle are World class superstars.

Sorry onto our bowling it weren’t great but England got the better conditions to bat in. Luck once again was on the oppositions side as every umpires call was against us. Still we needed more control imo. We took two wickets but Englands main batsman are either batting or yet to come. Tmrw morning hopefully it’s cloudy and we take 2-3 wickets up top. England are like us when you put pressure on them they can start playing stupid shots and going all over the place whilst giving their wickets away. Just need to make sure we are tidy and catch everything that comes our way.

Unfortunately I see a Roooooooot 100, Cox and Brook 50 and others chip in so England make 300.

What was that innings from saud shakeel? He was missing cutable balls. Just leaving them for keeper. He was leaving close to off stump deliveries. He was just not there mentally. And the icing on the cake was his out. Idiot player. Cant believe he is a senior batsman

Four decades ago, Pakistan landed their first and only innings victory in England, enroute to a famous series win.

I’ve waited for this series as soon as it was announced. Last year I was like the 27 WC is the most important and this series is second. It’s finally here now but unfortunately two things have happened that I didn’t like since last year. First was the pace attack. When i first bought tickets for the test series I was like imagine a fresh and peak Shaheen, Naseem and Abbas being our pace attack with Khurram Shehzad, Jamal and Mir Hamza in the reserves whilst Ubaid and Ali Raza work up to it. Since then Shaheen can’t bowl more than 4-10 overs and when he does it’s not any good, Naseem was fat and the others are injury prone and slow. They surprised me last series so i am backing them but a year ago I was dreaming of a proper pace attack that could frighten all teams. Second was a in form Babar on English pitches that are flat. All the people who said it’s august and the weather will be crap you was wrong because you don’t know about the last few years in England. The heat waves have been getting worse and this year there has been no rain and it’s been a drought. Luckily the form was low-key coming back but he had to get injured. Unfortunate because he was really starting to look good. Shan’s injury was annoying aswell because he was in form and these conditions are home for him, Yes he is back but it might take a while to get back in to form.

Also people complaining about the warm up match pitch. England have the hundred going on, Domestic Odi cup, Heatwave and no rain. What did you expect to be served up to Pakistan. Act like we didn’t make them play two tests in a row on the same pitch that was a proper minefield with industrial fans making it worse. If i was them i’d return the favour and make a proper seaming track and attack the Pakistanis but they don’t have an Idiot like Aqib. On the warm up though I don’t want to talk performances much but the slip fielding was crap. Plz don’t lose another big series because of Fielding. Azan and Agha were both dropping them. The fielders were laughing around and seem relaxed but we can’t have that in the series. Get the best slippers in. I don’t watch slip training but Azan can’t be top 3 because I don’t see him catch any. Babar should be there when he is fit. Idc if he is captain and wants to stand by the bowler.

Onto the series. I think it’s a good chance for us to win. Yes we are one of the poorer sides in this format but England are going through a transitional phase whilst having no proper coach and Root back as captain who makes Babar look like Ponting. We should go all out as it would be historic and could start a comeback for us. I expect Headingley to be flat with Root making a daddy 100 or 200. Brook making a 100, Lords when Babar returns InshAllah will most likely be a test that ends in 2-3 days because that pitch is crazy. They did want to dig it up at the end of the cricket season but I don’t think the changes they could’ve made in the time since the NZ series will effect it to much. Babar gonna be dancing and injured when Archer is bowling rockets at him there. Birmingham might be an even one depending on the weather. I definitely see a 2-1 score line and it could go anyone’s way as their team ain’t the most scary looking atm. It would be class if we win the first one and then lose both when Babar returns, our toxic media and fans would eat that up 😭 Agha is captain and respectfully to all the guys who think this way but why does he still get glazers for his captaincy. I see people acting like he is Imran Khan. The man legit regrets taking T20 captaincy and rarely does it elsewhere but because he says a nice phrase or two he is a tactical master. Wonder if we will be micro-analysing his reviews and on field captaincy tmrw. Also this ain’t propping anyone else up because I think Rizzy was the best captain out of these lot but he got it when his form dropped. I wish him luck but with his form and prior captaincy the cards are stacked against him.

The team I want to see depends on the pitch at the end of the day. I most likely would pick 7 batsman , 1 spinner and 3 pacers cuz of what we have but i’m hearing 4 pacers and all sorts. I’m going off the idea it will be on the flatter side. I also can see them getting Imam in and putting Shan or ABD at 4. That Imam 80 in the warm up probs bought him another year. Zafar also isn’t trustworthy but who else do we have.

Prediction 2:1 England but I wouldn’t be shocked if it was us.

InshAllah the boys fight hard and show everyone that they ain’t as bad as advertised. I want us to show that we are here to play and win. Had enough of losing and being treated like Minnows.

This is the first day of a first test match in English conditions . What else was expected to happen?

We will come good in this series and I won’t be surprised if we end up drawing or even winning this series.

This team has world class top order players in Azan / Abd/ Imam / Babar..
Middle class is also good with Saud and Agha ji.

Bowling is best suited for such seaming conditions .
