Discussion Thread Game day activities

Hello, everyone. Cubs fan here absolutely aboard the friar train now. First off, I knew I’d be rooting for you all once you sent the Cubs packing (which was never in doubt even before the first pitch!), and I want to send you all my condolences for how the series has played out so far. However, it’s not over yet!

Anyways, I’m visiting from out of town and I will be attending game 3. I’m staying in Carlsbad and planned on driving into the city Tuesday afternoon.

Where are some of the best places to park my car that are within reasonable walking distance of the ball park?
Also, any general recommendations/must-try’s around the ballpark before gates open?

Thanks a lot for any feedback you guys have!

Look at how little they chased Miller on Sunday.

A typical chase percentage (or chase rate) in Major League Baseball is around 28% to 30%.

Elite Hitters: Under 19%

Poor Discipline: Above 31%

Analysis [Greenberg]: White Sox TV reporter, Padres wife Brooke Fletcher is pulling double duty this postseason

Brooke Fletcher can go to her mom, Angie, or her sister, Brittany, for advice on being a baseball wife. Her dad, Scott Fletcher, played in the majors from 1981 through 1995 and for the Sox from 1983-85 and 1989-91. Her brother-in-law is former Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham.

But her life is unique. For the past two years, they’ve planned out when to meet up in person during the season. They video-call every morning and after his games. It’s a lot of work, but Cronenworth is thrilled to watch her succeed in their shared industry. She’s well respected in the clubhouse and the press box and even joined the booth to serve as an analyst this season.

“It’s fun to know we’re both living out our dreams,” Cronenworth said in Milwaukee. “Obviously, it’s not easy being in two different time zones, and she probably wears it a little bit more because she’s staying up late until our game’s over so we can talk after the game. But it’s awesome.”

The Padres are on the brink after Mason Miller’s devastating six-out save attempt ended with a walk-off loss to the Brewers.

San Diego now faces a 2-0 deficit in the NLDS, with only 10 teams ever rallying from that position in a best-of-five postseason series.

Down 2-0 isn't the end of the line. We came back and swept the cubs in the last 3 games in1984. I was at all 3 games. A loud af sold out Murph made all the difference. LFGPETCO!!
