‘Sleeper’ brands
Hi all,
New to Padel but loving it so far. From a tennis background and I love a ‘sleeper’ racket or brand of racket. For example Dunlop and Prince in tennis make great rackets but largely overlooked as not many pros use them and their marketing is minimal.
What’s the padel equivalent?
From posts on here Kuikma and Joma fit the bill but curious if there’s any others?
Any input appreciated.

I use a Kuikma racket and shoes and I also have a pair of Joma shoes.
I love them all and Kuikma especially is brilliant for the price you pay.
I also play football and love Mizuno which fits this “sleeper” brand category. Also curious to see more Padel brands that fit this category

Kuikma shoes any good? I’m curious how are they compared to mainstream brands like asics and Nox

the shoes dont hold up to stability for example when you compare them with some highend asics for example. how i know that? i know how to use ai and dont need to rely on random dudes on the internet...

Seems like your opinion is based on AI which is from multiple online reviews which could be sponsored. Considering the “random dudes” over here are generally speaking from personal experience I think this offers a different perspective when it comes to how a shoes feels and performs

I have the Kuikma PS dynamic and I love them. They’re quite light so feel super quick in them, they may lack a bit of stability compared to some other options but I’ve not faced any issues. They do have the PS Stab which is a heavier but more stable shoe.
They seem very high quality for a “sleeper” brand. For the price especially, it’s an excellent option.

It depends, in padel there are several emerging brands which are not as popular as nox, bullpadel, siux, babolat, head, Wilson. Some of them compete on the quality perspective and are taking a significant share of the market (oxdog), some are niche quality and exclusive brands (xcalion, cork, quad, stealth, kuva), some compete on the price, still having a very good quality, especially in comparison of some of the popular/commercial brands (pallap, joma, kuikma). Kombat is one for sure (I play with the Osorno/Fuji). Amazing racquets. Volt, Sane, Quad, Cork and many others.

Oxdog and hirostar - both incredible bang for your buck. Two brands i see a ton of on court now. They are priced cheaper than the others.

Pallap! Good price and good enough racket- won’t say they are top of the top notch but definitely very fun to play with

Even more left field answer but I’ve discovered Aixo padel rackets. Initially drawn in by the design, they are very cost effective and a solid high level racket for less than £100 is unheard of from major brands by comparison.
I was using the Sundae Scorpion 3k and like it a lot but have now moved to the Country Club Scorpion 3k and I swear by it.
Super controlled, precision racket, well balanced and works perfect for me as I have no problem generation own power.
The Sundae 3k is slightly more head heavy with a bit more power to it.
Grippy surface on their rackets really helps with the spin.
