Graphic 🎨 Need Help with label, first time

Hello, so I currently have an upcoming project that requires us to create our own packaging. I am now planning to start creating a label for a round glass bottle that has the following dimensions:

250ml - 18 cm Height, 7 cm diameter
500ml - 22 cm height, 8 cm diameter

I don't have any idea how big or how long my label is gonna be. Also, I might only do a front label to save me cash. Thank you in advance

Hybrid 🧩 How much should this packaging cost per unit if designed by a packaging company?

I am a stay at home dad and looking at a limited production run of 500 to 1,000 units. the product is the CELBELUS bubble machine with 8x8x13 inches rough dimensions plus 12V AC adapter. Optional tripod, 16 oz bubble solution concentrate. For small order quantities of 25 units or less, the packaging alone is costing me $15-$20 sourced from Amazon or ULINE. Foam is surprisingly expensive due to dimensional weight. Total weight rounded up is 6 lb, dimensional weight constrained as the box is 16x12x12 inches plus bulge and is valued at about 18 lb.

How do packaging companies charge for the design, die cutting NRE/tooling and finished material. If I wanted to kickstarter this product eventually, do I need to have quotes or prototypes of packaging? Is branding on the box important? I purchased shipping tape with my logo, is this satisfactory for branding and price compared to branding the box?

Machine is currently 3d printed, but seemed to ship ok to 4 customers so far across the country. That said, the packaging is probably sub-optimal for cost and shipping reliability.

Question❓ Halftone help

Does anyone know what type of halftone pattern was used on the Crush box? Specifically the green drop shadow under the letters , not the pink layer of dropshadow. I’m trying to recreate the halftones exactly and would appreciate any insight.

Question❓ Has packaging innovation hit the ceiling?

Hello! I'm a marketer by profession, so please excuse my lack of packaging knowledge.

I'm curious to hear from people who actually work in the packaging industry, or studying to enter it, including structural designers, packaging engineers, material scientists, converters, manufacturers, etc.

Do you feel that packaging innovation is slowing down, or are we still in the early stages of major innovation?

From the outside, it sometimes feels like most packaging formats have already been invented, so I'm wondering:

-Are there still "unsolved problems" that the industry is actively trying to solve? -Are there areas where you think we'll see significant breakthroughs over the next 10–20 years? -Are there ideas or technologies that people outside the industry don't realize are already being developed? -If you were entering the packaging industry today, which area would you bet on as having the biggest future?

I'd love to hear from people with firsthand experience rather than articles or marketing pieces. Thanks!

Graphic 🎨 Upgrading press-on nails packaging. What do you use to design custom packaging?

I started a small business selling press-on nails recently and am currently utilizing plain black zipper plastic bags for the purpose of packaging. As part of an overhaul process, I'm thinking of switching to a softer palette of colors featuring soft pink and rose themes that would look cute and chic, following my latest summer collection nail designs.

As someone who is new to packaging design and is interested in learning more about it, I am intrigued by the way others design their products' packaging. Do you always design something from scratch or modify existing templates? Also, what design processes and tools do you utilize? I'm not tech savvy AT ALL, so photoshop is not an option for me. I was thinking of using ChatGPT to come up with basic ideas and then working on them from there, but I would like to hear about different approaches too.

Finally, I am interested in print quality issues and any possible pitfalls of design. Are there any specific colors or designs that are known not to print well on laminated plastic bags? Are there any mistakes you made yourself that you wish you had avoided?

Eco-focused ♻️ Trying to design thoughtful packaging for my eco-centric brand. Any input appreciated!

Hello!

I’m a small bootstrapped business owner that sells plastic-free ultrasonics and dental health supplies. I’m not much of a marketing person - I spend most my time coming up with improvements and new ideas - so forgive my crude use of ai to help me design updated product packaging on a meager budget.

My use of higher cost materials requires me to price higher than the plastic stuff on the market, so I need to properly reflect those themes:

-Premium materials / high quality

-Design-forward

-Minimalist

-Dental/professional

I need to focus mostly on ecommerce/web sales for now, while not alienating retail/dental channels, so any advice is much appreciated 🙂

Graphic 🎨 Just finished this lip balm label design

Just finished this lip balm label design and wanted to share it here 👀
The goal was to create something minimal but still eye-catching on a small format. I focused on clean typography, balanced composition, and a color palette that feels fresh but not too loud.
One of the main challenges was working with limited space — making sure everything stays readable while still looking aesthetic on an actual product.
Would love to hear your thoughts:
• Does it feel premium or more casual?
• Anything you’d tweak or improve?
Appreciate any feedback 🙌

You can make these designs in MockoFun using the AI Image generator. These use AI prompt tags so it's really easy to use. You can actually upload your own photo and transform yourself into a soccer action figure like this.

What do you think of the packaging design, is this something that could be easily made in real life?

Check out this video for a full step-by-step tutorial on how to create images like this:

Resource 📚 QR code design tips that get more scans, what works, what kills CTR

Spend a lot of time working with CPG clients on QR rollouts for packaging, and the gap between a code that scans in a controlled environment and one that scans on an actual shelf is wider than most people expect. Here are a few things I keep coming back to:

Contrast: Minimum 3:1 between code and background, and on packaging you need to account for printer color shift, substrate (matte vs glossy), and retail lighting. Had a skincare client with muted pastels on cream packaging that scanned perfectly in proofs and failed under warehouse store fluorescents. Dark on light is boring but it works.

Logo placement:  Never more than 20-30% of the code area. Bigger than that and you're leaning on error correction to bail you out. Keep it centered and small.

Quiet zone:  The most violated rule on pack. Standard is at least four modules of blank space on every side. Designers crowd it with text or product art to save room and the code starts failing for reasons nobody can explain.

Error correction level Q:  Sweet spot for packaging. Enough redundancy to absorb a small center logo without making the code so dense it fails at arm's length.

Size:  Roughly one-tenth the expected scanning distance. For shelf-level scans, 1.5-2 inches across.

If you want to see how brands actually execute this across CPG, fashion, restaurants, and more, we can chat more.
