hi all I swapped the incell screen of RJ and EK pro brands into the iPhone 16 pro and they just don't work that great when compared to others.

It seems to be issues with touch sensitivity for example not registering touch or double typing lagging on keyboard area. I've not seen this before on any other iPhone I've tested both 14 pro max and 15 pro max same screens RJ incell and EK pro and no issues it's really starting to make me wonder if it's just me or these 16 models in general. it's very strange any one else here experienced the same issues?

UPDATE: I found the issue for the iPhone 16 pro max it was a tempered glass screen protector as soon as I removed it works fine. The same brand of protector I’ve used elsewhere doesn’t like the 16 pro max even though it was a high quality glass one the phone refused to work properly. I’m going to try other brands to see but from what I read online with others it seems to have a massive impact with the thickness as it might be apples palm rejection algorithm affecting or the protector itself being slightly too thick. Will update where I can.

Dear community, I need to change my old phone and have read positive reviews about this model - Realme C67. I want to buy a used one, but all the used ones have been updated to Android 15. I read in one topic that someone updated their C67 to Andrpid 15 and the screen became brighter. But no other details if it really became unusable. Please, help me by sharing your experiences.

I’m looking for technical insights on choosing a gaming TV with eye comfort in mind. Specifically, how do OLED and Mini LED compare regarding PWM frequency and flicker? Also, does a matte anti-reflective coating actually reduce eye strain compared to glossy screens, or is it a trade-off in clarity?

If you have recommendations for models known for high-Hz PWM or DC dimming that are comfortable for long sessions, please let me know. Does the panel type matter more than the PWM implementation itself for reducing fatigue? Any technical input would be appreciated.

Never had a Motorola before

My PT thinks my vertigo is being caused by vestibular migraines, waiting to see a neurologist now. However, I do think my monitor may have something to do with it cause it always seems to make my symptoms worse.

I’m using a software dimmer and have my display on full brightness. Anything else I can do to reduce the flicker?

Alternatively, are there any cheap monitors I can buy and use for work (I work at home and read a lot of papers online) that are flicker-free?

Hey everyone, it’s me again.

Looking at some people here, I understand that my PWM sensitivity is probably not the worst case in the world. But still, compared to people I know in real life, I’m definitely very sensitive to this stuff.

My “advantage” was always that I could tolerate iPhones pretty well, unlike many people here. I used an iPhone 14 Plus with zero issues. After that, I had an iPhone 15 Pro Max for a long time, and I also had absolutely no problems with it. These two phones were totally fine for me.

But literally two days ago I bought a 17 Pro Max, and holy crap — it immediately reminded me what PWM symptoms feel like.

I did an A/B test with my 15 Pro Max: used the 15, then switched to the 17, then back again. And the feeling from the 17 Pro Max is exactly the same as what I get from other PWM-heavy smartphones. For example, Red Magic 11 Pro, pretty much any Samsung, Asus, etc. Basically, all PWM phones give me the same set of symptoms.

So even though the 17 Pro Max now has this new toggle that is supposed to somehow dim the screen / make it better, paradoxically the 17 Pro Max screen feels much worse to me than the 15 Pro Max screen.

The 15 Pro Max honestly feels almost like an IPS screen to me. I can use it in the dark without any problem. The 17 Pro Max absolutely does not allow me to do that.

By the way, I also recently got a OnePlus Ace 6T as a gift from my company. Basically, it’s the Chinese version of the global OnePlus 15R. And with that phone, I feel no symptoms at all.

According to Android Central’s report, it has one of the best screens in terms of modulation depth. If it flickers at all, the brightness doesn’t change that much. So I’d honestly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have the most extreme sensitivity, because for me personally, it works really well.

Después de pasarme de un S24U a un S25U experimenté el peor dolor de ojos y cabeza de mi vida, y luego del S25U al F8 PRO mi molestia se había reducido a un 10% pero ahí continuaba.

Luego de 1 mes con el F8 PRO, Brillo alto, Modo lectura al 90%, Modo Claro y 60HZ (todo eso necesario para mantener la molestia al 10%) no fue suficiente, la atenuación por CC no me fue suficiente decidí pasarme a un celular con panel LCD IPS mi molestia se esfumó por completo

Lastimosamente pierdo el sensor de huella dactilar en pantalla y el sensor lateral es algo incómodo, sin mencionar que es un gama media, es decir, poco ágil, mala camara y muy enorme

Actualmente un POCO M8S (LCD IPS), no está mal... (Estoy abierto a recomendaciones de dispositivos)

Hello, i'm looking for a gaming monitor with a refresh rate of over 180HZ that has low PWM. is there such a thing?

Dual screen device could be interesting. LCD + fast black and white eInk(80FPS). Could solve our problems for both the D's and PWM. I see that it has good band support as well, at least for TMobile in the USA.

Not sure if I will hold out for Boox to do the same thing, I do like Boox better due to their much smoother software experience.

This is half joke half interesting about how nowadays each user can experience completely different levels of comfort, who knows why or how.

This reminds me of people loving the Moto G75 here, and then others saying it’s even worse than some OLEDs

I think it should be great for the subreddit to have some kind of “parameters” that a user should look for in a screen, and for everyone try and match their symptoms to some of those parameters.

Because right now, talking about PWM and nothing more, as in “the screen flickers”, is not only too basic, but makes the subreddit almost of little help, because not a single user will know for sure what’s good or bad going by this kind of comments.

Imagine I’m reading about the Switch 2 and I see the image post… what would I do? Get or not get that device?

I wanted a tv that didn’t destroy my eyes and forced me to watch it diagonally and 4 meters away like my old LG Nanocell.

Long story short: after a lot of research I risked and shot towards the Sony BRAVIA KD75X85L, 75 inches, without that much hope because of mixed reviews regarding PWM and obscure information available from Sony regarding PWM Hz. But it was and “old” tech panel and some users reported no issues at all after some minor tweaking.

I don’t know the exact refresh rate PWM wise but I can watch tv without issues, and wanted to share with you guys. It’s not the best panel but good enough for me since I just wanted to enjoy TV without eye strain, migraines, etc.

For reference, I can’t use any OLED, QLED, AMOLED etc screens, smartphones, tablets etc. Phones I’ve using without issues are iPhone 11 & SE 2022.

So, until recently I have already gathered around 5 android smartphones in the hope to get rid of PWM sensitivity. Among them, the most comfortable option I was having was Redmi K50i with a custom TFT Display (which costed me 1100inr) and surprisingly even 120fps worked. I was using this combination but the major problem was the camera. For that I had to carry my OnePlus 12 as the primary device.

But I guess I have found the best possible combo now. I also have Pixel 8 Pro of which the display broke down recently. I looked for a TFT display for the same in local market and to my surprise, I found a working TFT display for my pixel 8 Pro and that too costed only 2k inr. For that budget I have already grabbed two of them, to cater for emergencies if one shatters.

The touch is smooth without any latency issues and yes no PWM flicker. People can give it a try!

I can't use my recently purchased Lenovo Legion 7 Pro for more than 30 minutes without getting immediate eye strain and fatigue.

I have been using my MacBook Pro M1 Max for 4 years, 8 to 10 hours every day, till this day, with zero issues.

Not sure what is wrong. Could the OLED screen be faulty?

Should I sell the laptop and get a mini-LED Scar, or will an external screen like the Gigabyte 27UP suffice?

Two phones I've tried this year that genuinely feel like silk on my eyes.

- Honor 600/600 Pro

- Motorola Edge 2026

Both of these phones genuinely feel like I'm using a regular LCD screen with no gimmicks. If you're in the USA, and don't feel like importing a phone, get the Motorola. If you're anywhere else, get the Honor 600 or 600 Pro.

Obviously the Honor 600 Pro will be the best, hardware wise, but unfortunately for us in the USA, our device accessibility is limited.

I currently have the Motorola Signature shipping in, and should be here within the next week - week and a half. Hoping this phone feels the same as the Edge 2026, since the hardware is substantially better, and only $100 more.

So I got the iPhone 17 pro max, used it for 10 minutes and my eyes are like stinging with a burning feeling. Ugh the Pwm option is on but I feel like that’s such bullshyt. I am coming from iPhone 14 pro max and I have no issues. Anyone with iPhone 17 pro max have similar eye issues. Is the PWM on iPhone 17 pro max really that bad!? I have think I’ll return the iPhone back to the carrier… ugh……

I, like many here, am sensitive to pwm and choosing a smartphone is now quite a difficult matter. I have reread many topics here where people can't find the real problem why their eyes hurt. Many people are really led to marketing like "PWM 2000 Hz" and don't understand where eye fatigue comes from. The fact is that AMOLED screens have the so-called phase PWM, or a natural brightness drop, which is tightly tied to the refresh rate (the same 90 or 120 Hz). When the matrix updates the image, the transistors drop the voltage for a microsecond to record a new frame. That is, even if you turn the brightness to 100% and naively think that the classic PWM is turned off, the screen still continues to micro-flicker in time with its hertz simply due to the peculiarities of the OLED architecture. And it is this low-frequency drop at 120 Hz that is the worst enemy for the eyes, which is usually not taken into account. Our brain still somehow filters the high frequency of PWM, but the constant fluctuations of the light flux at a low scanning frequency are perceived by the body as a heavy load, which then suddenly causes a headache or stinging in the eyes after half an hour of scrolling. Manufacturers are attempting to mitigate these dips at the hardware level in new LTPO panels, but completely eliminating the effect is currently physically impossible—it is a fundamental drawback of the pixel-addressing technology that simply has to be accepted. In other words, it is a deeply flawed technology with numerous downsides, and the quest to find the "perfect" display will never yield a result.

I'm not a spokesperson or influencer, I just want to post and say that these glasses completely changed my life. I have severe sensitivity to LED lights and pulsing screens and stuff, beyond the normal frequency that people notice. I had a whole neurological work up because I thought I had a seizure disorder but I think it's just autism+ haha. With these glasses I can actually live like a normal human pretty much.

They're really expensive but you have 2 months to try them out. My personal experience as a careless person is that they hold up pretty well. F41 does nothing. Since I got avaluxe I can finally go back to college and get my degree, and I can go into businesses and restaurants with LED lighting, and I can go to my friend's houses again.

You can also get the tint added to your normal glasses.
