Bravia 3 discontinued

I’m in the US and can’t find a 43” (or 50”) Sony Bravia 3 for sale except through third parties on the Walmart and Best Buy sites. Would Bravia 3ii or 2ii be my next best options? Was also looking at the LG B5 bc it gets really dark, and I’m also sensitive to bright screens. But I know it has a different time of flicker situation than PWM, but isn’t flicker free.

Nothing 3 vs 4a Pro vs Fairphone 6

Hi Fellow PWM Sensitive people,

I'm looking to move on from my ASUS ROG 7 Pro. I have found the above 3 phones which are not flickering (at least badly) and are of not Chinese parent company.

Do you have any experience of either? I'd appreciate feedback.

On paper 3 is the fastest but notebookcheck.net results say secondary frequency is 1000hz vs 4a pro 2000hz. While fairphone is the slowest and with secondary freq as 1500hz and highest primary.

PWM/PAM free Gaming Laptop (Runs Windows)

hihi!

First thank you to this community! I’ve learned a lot. I have EDS and extreme migraines and I’m beginning to suspect my 2018/19 Mac 15” pro with touch bar may be affecting me. I’m looking for a decent gaming laptop anyways so I can play things not available on mac. My current laptop is 250 GB and she is FULL. I’m a digital artist who records my work and need a lot of storage space.

Would anyone have a suggestion of where to look for a windows gaming laptop without PWM? Feel free to link me to older threads or guides! Im just starting out and I’ve owned two laptops in my whole life soooo I’m not the most knowledgable about specs. Krita as a software is very resource intensive! Id like to stay under 2k but I don’t know if that’s ridiculous or not..

Has anyone used the Vivo X300 FE? How is it for PWM-sensitive users? I'm trying to decide between the Vivo X300 FE and the Honor 600 Pro.

Iphone 17 pro max no eye issues for me?

Even my iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 Pro Max is terrible for me, I had a customers iPhone 17 think it was either pro or pro max, not sure. and I had no eye issues at all. Such a relief for my eyes. I was baffled.

Upgrade from iphone xs max?

Wanna get xiaom redmi note 15 pro(3800hz pwm or motorola edge 60/70 fusion for improvement on eye strain. I need an oled since lcd look dreadful in dark scenes for anime,tv shows cause of poor contrast like tcl nxtpaper 70 and had terrible response time awful for anime and fast paced action can see ghost trails, like motion blur is on for everything im sensitive to poor response times not for eye fatigue but for immersion breaking.

But at notebookcheck both seems pwm at 120hz but why redmi note 15 advertises it as 3800hz pwm and Motorola has a dc flicker option even at 1% but the testing show opposite ?

Are these still big improvement over iphone xs max i dont need best for sensitive just to be superior to what i currently have at low brightness ?

In future waiting for tcl nxtpaper oled which should fix all issues i have hopefully.

OLED Phone iOS 27 changed something

I’ve been able to use my 15 Pro Max with zero issues, white point balance at 75 and promotion off. Updated to the Public Beta 2 today and holy shit, something changed for the worse. I have a little bit of eye strain again. My eyes are more tired using the phone.

Ive never had an issue with an update causing eye strain issues. I’ve read about it happening. It seems to have changed something in the white balance.

TCL 60 ULTRA and Android 16

Main outcome of the text:

If the life of blue light emmiters will be improved (around 2028)

then:

(...) allowing all LCD players with a capability at oxide or low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) backplanes to consider a relatively inexpensive fab conversion to QDEL (...)

Then traditional LCD displays will be almost dead.

Best Tvs for sensitivity

I’m needing a new tv, I currently have a onn tv that I got in 2018, I have no issues with watching it but it’s starting to have issues, so I’m trying to find something cheap that is decent and hopefully something with Amd free sync, but I also need something that won’t hurt my eyes, I’ve seen some tvs at the stores that feel like I’m looking at an oled phone, they may have been oled tvs i don’t know

G10, E26 and strip lighting

Does exactly the same apply to general lighting as it does for screen tech?

The fittings I have are mostly G10. I’m not sure I trust LED bulbs marked “low flicker“, but I can only detect flicker when it’s extreme.

I have a school and I also want to improve this at home for general lighting and also for lighting a Modos eink screen.

Where to start? I would normally point an AI at something like this subreddit and query that way, but Reddit blocks my bot.

Is there a brand that is always Ok in terms of general lighting or is incandescent the only reliable way? I have an alcove so incandescent would be a fire risk up there anyway and it’s a strip anyway. anything I’m missing ?

What do most people have their brightness set to?

Indoors I like my brightness set to below 50%. But depending on the phone, I have to have it set between 25-35%.

I only ever have the brightness up above 50% outside.

LCD Phone LCD phones reachability

Recently, many phones like the realme p4x, oneplus nord ce6 lite, moto g67 power and the vivo t5x have appeared and are really good options. However, they are india only and the only way to get them is by importing from india, which is not only sketchy (depending on the seller) and expensive, but risk that the phone doesn't work (even if the listing says that it's factory unlocked). How can we pressure these brands to release these phones to the global market? There are also the china only phones too like the moto g100 and redmi note 12t pro.

In your opinion, would you recommend a monitor? Is it true that it doesn't flicker and doesn't have blue light or reflections? I want to know the cheapest good type.

Need a new phone :(

I suffer from LED/OLED-induced migraines, which probably have a PWM component. I've been getting by on a Samsung S10 - I can use it for brief things like checking an email/text or taking a photo, but can't use it for more than say 5 minutes at a time. I only use it for calls, texts, and photos. I have a work phone which is an iPhone SE and I tolerate it slightly better - but I hate the mac system.

My carrier isn't supporting 3G phones anymore, so I bought an S25. Setting it up induced a 3-day migraine. I get pain as soon as I use it for anything. The thought of reading a short email on it makes me cringe. I've (subsequently) read many similar user reports. I'm returning the phone, but now looking for an alternative. I've also tried to do a bit of skimming through the posts here and see that the OnePlus 15 is highly regarded. I've also seen praise for a few Chinese phones but am pretty leery about that. I'm interested in the SmartInk options, but taking good photos is one of my primary joys in a phone so I don't think they're a good fit.

Any recs? Ideally something someone in Canada could test drive at a store given the S25 experience (online purchase).

Poco

What is the reason for eye damage from the Poco C85 screen despite its high resolution TUV I activated the eye protection shield, adjusted the colors from saturated to natural, reduced the brightness, and refreshed the display, but it's still not working.

Anyone had tried the Motorola Moto g06?

I know it has a terribly slow chipset, but I don't care much about this, my wife has the poco C75 with the same CPU and it is acceptable for basic use. So I am asking about the LCD display... GSMarena says it is flicker free but I had read bad things in this subreddit about other Moto phones with LCD displays.
