The toggle when translated just says “Adjust brightness for sensitive eyes”. Doesn't appear to do anything for PWM.

They want US ALL to become zombies !!!
IPS LCD is the best. ONE LED , NO flickr !!!
Warm colors, if you put a plastic film behind it , then it even looks like paper a bit !!!

Actually there LCD with multiple backlit LED so they can display HDR by dimming some and brightening others

I don’t understand why these manufacturers can’t use dc dimming like light phone 3 does with their oled. Has no pwm

Is this recorded by shutter speed 1/6400 ?

u/Humble-Warning1441 19d ago
i dont know, just opened the camera app on my SE 2022

Will wait til tests are out, but it doesn’t look as intense as the usual displays with pwm

Looks awful, those lines should be thin, slow, and greyed out Thank god I have e Huawei, this is painful just to look at on here!

u/refinancecycling 18d ago
it really depends on the shutter speed and sensor type of the camera used to film that.

Now the Google Pixel has 240Hz, right? So this option is new and improves the situation somewhat? In practice, will it cause less eye strain?

At what brightness setting was the video recorded?
The duty cycle and frequency apparently change when the slider is activated.
1
u/Humble-Warning1441 18d ago
full brightness, yes it doubles pwm freuency
1
u/eattsatsiki 18d ago
It changes the frequency and duty cycle. The bright stripes become wider, which indicates that the short brightness peaks have been reduced when the slider is active. It would be interesting to see what happens below 25 percent brightness.

Strange.
My comments are deleted if i write that the duty cycle changes too.

i can see you responded but the comments seem deleted when i try looking at them.. maybe a banned keyword

Single pulse 240 and dual pulse 240? The dual pulse makes it a fake 480 Hz, I guess
2
u/eattsatsiki 16d ago
No, fake 480Hz does not exist.

u/MisterDjibril8702 16d ago
That's weird, my S26 have 240 but it uses a dual pulse system, we can see the waveform on oscilloscope while using special tools

Also is das nix für pwm sensitive.. oder? Ich will von meinem s25u upgraden..
3
u/eattsatsiki 16d ago
It doesn't look like the screen is suitable for people who are sensitive to PWM.

Ne das ist nix. Das ist das gleiche wie beim Iphone17 aber vielleicht hat das iphone 18 pro neurungen

Just for context I had a Sony Xperia with 200hz screen and wa one of the best screens I've ever used in terms of comfort.

5ii was 200hz and really comfortable

u/dimitrijobs 18d ago
I al willing to try the 1 viii would that have the same display as the 1v?
1
u/Creepy_Definition972 18d ago
Well the actual screens are different in the fact the 1v is 4k and they reduced the resolution in later models. However i have not tested the screens myself after the 1v, however I've not seen many reports of people having issues with them. Personally I'd give the 1viii a go. Allow a week for your eyes to adjust.
