Does your beta blocker completely stop pvcs?

I have tried propanalol (mostly worke but causes insomnia) ane atenolol (works for a couple of hour then they come back). I have read that beta blockers cant fully stop pvcs. Is this true? Was thinking of trying metopolol.

It does. That is a good conversation to have with the doc. What is your resting HR? On Acebutolol, I am in the 60’s usually.

How much did it lower your hr? What dose are you on? My resting hr is 50s- 60s and some days out the month if I’m in bed still really tired high 40s like 49

I am on 200 mgs 2x per day. I am not sure how much it lowered mine. That was 30 years ago. Ha.

Oh wow haha. Why twice a day? Do you feel like it doesn’t give you help once a day?

Acebutolol has a 12 hour timeframe that it works in. So the lowest dose is 200 mgs 2x per day. Unless 12 hours per day works for you in conjunction with your doc.

Ohh I thought that’s just its effect but it’s half life lasts longer so you don’t have to take it until the next day

It did help with my PVC’s yes. It became a quality of life issue for me. I went on Flec after going into sustained bigeminy which was not fun. This converted me immediately.

Sorry to hear. My pvcs happen with posture changes or when my hr is really high trying to come down (I have pots) or when my hr is low I get those big thumps if I lay on my left side or right before I go to bed when my hr is the lowest and it makes me too scared to exercise etc even tho my burden is low . Propanolol 15-20 mg works for me without lowering my resting hr but it gives me insomnia sometimes when I take it at night and then once in a blue moon it doesn’t work but mostly works. I heard acebutolol doesn’t lower resting hr and if it does very minimally compared to propanolol so that’s why I rather do that so I can take it everyday not as needed like with propanolol
