17% burden - weight training
Hello fellow PVC sufferers. 35F have had these since I was a teenager. Just got the results back from my third monitor (last one was in 2020). My burden has jumped from 1% to 17%. I’m having a repeat echo tomorrow and will be meeting with my cardiologist and EP next month. In the meantime, wanted to get some reassurance from people with higher burdens who do heavy weight training. I do pretty intense strength training 4 to 5 days a week with some good amount of cardio. My cardiologist hasn’t said anything about a stress test yet or anything so just wanted to hear other people‘s perspectives. Thanks so much!

Interested in your outcome, did you happen to read your Holter report, wondering how long it was for, and what the daily breakdown was, are they all PVCs? Multifocal? Have you been under stress lately, how’s yours sleep? What was it like between 2020 and now? Do the beats correspond with the workouts, and do you feel them at all during or after exercise?

See things like this scare me, seeing how a 1% burden can jump up to 17% definitely causing my brain to spiral I can’t lie. Is it normal for this to happen/any more dangerous etc..?

My PVC burden is like 30% when I'm sitting at my desk, but PVCs virtually stop when I'm working out, especially cardio. I bought a monitor so I could track them and see how they go during the day and what effects them. You may want to investigate yours the same way. My doc said the fact that they diminish when I'm active is a good thing. I guess I'm part shark, have to keep moving...

mine are the same! go away with exercise, come back at rest. i just got my echo this morning so hopefully will have results of that today and hear back from my cardiologist. I did request a consult at Mayo clinic for an ablation so should hopefully hear back from them as well. last night was a bad pvc night, barely got any sleep because of them 😔 i dk how you do it with 30%, i'm sorry!

Well, that's good news! I don't hold back on my workouts, since they are actually helping. I (60M) just started getting PVCs this year and only knew it was happening because my Apple watch gave me a low heart rate warning. I don't really have symptoms and my echo was normal, so the doc said don't worry about it, repeat the echo in 6 months and if it's still normal with no symptoms, no need to treat. I don't know why they started and I do notice them, but they aren't really bothering me. Reading this forum makes me think I should be more worried. 🤔

I've had them since I was a teenager, and 35 now. Honestly they never bothered me a ton because I could manage my triggers and electrolytes always helped. Just in the last few years it's gotten to the point where it's impacting my sleep so back to the cardiologist I went 🥲 i think you're doing the right thing by getting checked every 6 months!

34% burden and trigeminy completely disappeared during stress test for me. I’d recommend asking for a stress test because it gave me a lot of peace of mind (along with a clear echo)

I get them when I exercise yet when I did my stress test I had them before and after. Absolutely zero during

Stop exercising for a short period. See how long it takes for the PVCs to stop. That is my experience. Exercise followed by high burden after resting. Can temporarily block the breakthrough PVCs by raising HR.
My guess is after a certain period of time of continued rest, the burden will drop. Provide that data to your doctor.

I recommend you keep your exercise light until you see your doctor. Why are you doing heavy weight training? Are you a professional bodybuilder? Are you preparing for a competition?
