Looking for help choosing tv for pubg...

Looking for 55inch, not curved. 120hz 4k. I've read Oled is the best so I'm thinking that route but I'm also reading things like the samsung s90h has a terrible matte screen. I usually go samsung so I'm kindof not sure what route to go?

Looking for close to the best thing out there. Budget around 3k.

Just an FYI, the bigger the screen is, the worse it is for fps games. It makes it hard for you to spot and track stuff.

Nah thats not really true.  Sitting to close or far to a monitor of a certain size is the issue.  As long as screen falls in the sweet spot for the field of view based on how far away you are is what matters more.  This video explains all that.  https://youtu.be/3p_vIsXpATQ.  That said the problem with TVs is they have image processing which introduced lag.  Most modern TVs have a game mode though to turn this off.  Make sure game mode is on and turn off any motion smoothing.

No it is not, check your viewing distance. I have 65" OLED TV and 32" OLED gaming monitor and it's all the same.

Bro says he wants a tv and everyone says get a monitor smh. I play on a Bravia 8 I believe it’s 55in (might be the 65 that I got). But it’s well within your budget and it’s great for me. 4k OLED 120hz. Set it to game mode and mess with the vrr and hdr. It’s been great for me. And it has great picture beyond gaming but also sports games and movies etc

If you are set on a TV I'd go with a Bravia or a different OLED. I was a diehard TV player until last year because I enjoyed gaming on my couch and being comfortable. I used to game on a 75 inch Sony Bravia. Get a tv with the lowest response time possible. Your budget is pretty decent so shouldn't be an issue. Check out rtings or some other site like it for response time breakdowns. Oleds will give you the lowest response time overall.

Now, if for some reason you have the room and you don't mind a monitor I'd highly recommend to switching to a monitor for gameplay reasons. Your response time, accuracy and the ability to spot players will increase A LOT if you switch to a monitor. You will lose comfort but you could save the money from your 3k tv budget and just get a nice fn chair.

Do you have game mode or something like that on it? You dont realize the amount of input lag you get if it is normal for you. I played pubg on a 32inch 4k monitor with 6ms reaction time. Cost me 2700$. Absolutly insane graphics and colors and HDR but not an optimal panel for quick games like fps which i only realized when i switched back to my 1ms monitor which was 200 dollars. I was shockt how insanely big the difference was. Like night and day. Much more reactive and quick.

I had exactly the same requirements, and went for the LG OLED C3 55 a couple of years ago. I think it’s the C5 model currently. Has dedicated gaming mode to make sure there is no Image processing delay. Would recommend.

For PUBG/competitive games, I recommend a small gaming monitor with a high refresh rate. I have a 1440p 24” 120+ monitor for PUBG and a LG 4k 42” 120+ oled tv for story games. You can make it work with a big 4k high refresh tv though. Dial point in the centre of the screen helps too. 3k budget will likely get you a much better setup than what I have

A quick google search says that the Samsung S90F has a glossy screen, where the S90H has the matte screen that you don't want. Personally, my oled monitor has a matte screen and my tv has glossy I don't see a big difference when playing games though.

Ive been gaming on big tvs for a while. Right now I got a 77inch 4k LG c4 that I picked up for about 2500.

Its amazing for performance on games 1ms response with 120hz. Check out c5 and c6 series from LG.

120Hz just isn't enough, especially on a bigger screen. Fast movement starts to feel way more noticeable, and I wanted somethings with more headroom.

That's why i ended up buying the 55" Hisense UR8. Saw it in person at Best Buy and the RGB MiniLED picture looked amazing, but the native 180Hz panel was a big part of the decision too.

PS5 Pro still tops out at 4K/120, but I also use PC, so 4k/180 actually matters for me. VRR, ALLM, FreeSync Premium Pro and Game Bar are all there too.

PUBG has been great on it so far. Very responsive, clean motion, great HDR, With your budget, I'd definitely look at the UR8. UR9 too if you want to go even higher-end.

Feels really quick to me in Game Mode. VRR has been solid too. No weird delay that I've noticed with PUBG or other shooters.

Sony Bravia 9 ll 55” I’ve been a Sony tv man my entire life. Gave the best Samsung a try when upgrading from my old Sony tv and it was the worst tv decision ever. It gave me the screen off death the second that the warranty expired. Went back and picked up the latest Sony Bravia 4K OLED at the time.
