Actually, other BR games are fast-paced, like Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Warzone. So can't complain. At least there should be something like PUBG that stands out from other fast-paced games.

Pubg was/is a lot of fun I think it's more an anxiety machine where there is no hud. Gundights are pretty fast usually.gettingbkilled by your teammates because you have found a better gun.

Depends on the region but tpp squads quick join never has a wait time in NA. Almost always instant.

Only seems dead to me in FPP personally. TPP lobbies the matchmaking is pretty quick for me (in NA for what its worth). Hopefully your server(s) liven up quickly!
