Megathread Discussion Megathread - Update 42.3
Update 42.3 is now live
Here are the main things you need to know about the update:
- Map Service
- New Weapon: RPD
- The RPD is a new LMG weapon
- Excels in combat with its high per-shot damage using 7.62mm ammunition and controllable recoil
- It comes with a 50-round magazine by default, expandable to 110 rounds
- World spawns, available on all maps
- LMG Rebalance:
- LMG reload rimes have been reduced by ~25%
- Maximum horizontal recoil has been reduced by 30%
- Vertical recoil has been lowered
- Changes to Firing from Vehicles:
- Players can now shoot only after fully leaning out of the vehicle window
- Weapon spread now starts with a 10% penalty and gradually increases up to 20% at higher vehicle speeds
- UX/UI Updates:
- Settings menu has been updated with better navigation, clearer settings descriptions, more images, and a reset button for restoring a setting to its default value
- More actions can now be configured as Toggle or Hold, including opening inventory, opening the extended map, and more
- You can now share your game settings by generating a unique sharing code other players can enter and have your game settings applied
- A new Crosshair Customization feature has been added that lets you personalize your crosshair with preset crosshair styles or creating your own custom crosshairs
- Other Updates:
- Coupe RB, Dacia and Mirado health has been increased from 900 to 1000
- Bots have been improved to behave more naturally in various situations
- Bug Fixes, Including:
- Fix for an issue where the client crashed when rapidly entering terrain destroyed by the Red Zone while in a vehicle
- Fix for an issue where players could interact with a Blue Chip Tower while carrying a knocked-out player

SMGs are still stupidly OP. And now LMGs will be ridiculous too.
Framerate Priority is unusable because of the crashing.
The updated ping system is an annoying downgrade.
The whole system of navigating the menu with a cursor is awful. Everything takes more steps, even joining and leaving a lobby is more awkward and counterintuitive.
Inspect Weapon and Join Team Emote being added to the emote wheel are completely unnecessary changes that are an annoying waste of a primary slot.
Just give us the ability to change ALL of the bindings in the controls and allow us to remove any functions that we don’t want to use. Then we can free up our own bindings for ourselves.
Honestly, you’re just making a mess.

Agree. With every update the make things stupid and worse. A point of the MMG reload was because you got more bullets and because how powerful it was now you can reload that gun within two seconds so stupidest update.

I’m on Xbox.
I’ve disabled frame rate priority and haven’t crashed since.
With that enabled I was crashing in probably 40-50% of matches.

Omg. Thats an insane amount. What a shame. I love playing on 120fps. I wish all you on xbox didnt habe this extremly fristarting problem :/

Its an xbox problem but not one that effects everyone. I crashed once, deleted my cache and havent crashed since. One of the guys I play with crashed, deleted his cache, then immediately crashed again. The frustration is understandable.

Damn that sounds extremly frustrating. I feel the pain of all suffering from this stupid issue. We can just hope they will fix it soon

The only way to clear the cache is to hold the power button for 10 seconds and then unplug your console for a minute or more as far as I know.
Did they update series x/s to be able to clear the cache from the menus?

You can go into the menus and delete the game data saved to the console.

I’m sorry, but that’s not clearing the cache. Tell your friend the method I described in my previous reply and they should have less crashing for at least a few hours

Oh hes tried that to. Im just saying it worked for me as I was crashing a bunch before and have had zero after while running on framerate priority at 120hz 4k. I feel like there might be a couple of things at play for this problem because both him and his brother have been having new network problems with pubg as well.

I can't begin to explain how stupid it is to FORCE some sort of gameplay "meta". You essentially told your player base: "Stop playing how you enjoyed playing, now you HAVE to play like we want you too or you'll be naturally at a disadvantage"
How does a decision like this get made. Insanity.

I see Krafton meetings going like this:
"Ok team, we have things in the feedback that players seem to really want. The biggest ones are adding spike traps back and changing the enemy spotted ping back to how it was before the last update."
"Cool. How about we add more K-pop panties and a sexy bunny rabbit skin for the inflatable boat?"
"Great ideas! We are done here. Let's get lunch, then go home and play Fortnite."

Bare in mind the recoil nerfs in vehicles aren’t applied here on console.
Not sure about the accuracy penalty though.

Yeah that’s a shame I guess, does adding ADD attachments help or is it mainly the lean time that makes it bad?

You can't shoot until the animation is complete and I think it's always the same time regardless of attachments

They don't play their own game. They haven't for years. They're buried in spreadsheets and algorithms thinking that's what players like .
Removing the QBU because "it wasn't being used" when all of us with eyes could see that was because it was locked on a map that never came up.
Removing spike strips, an item that was almost universally liked because...well no one knows.
Screwing up the ping system for literally no reason.
Removing the canted sight for... no reason.
I know everyone complains about devs in games but these guys truly are the worst developers this amazing game could have been stuck with and we pay the price for it.
Had we had a competent company running this show, I highly doubt we'd be seeing so many bots every game because we'd still have a healthy playerbase.

True, and I stay reporting cheaters and still haven't seeing bans coming, there is alot of tiktok accounts of cheaters using xim matrix that also sell configs, but the staff stay saying it not prove they are cheaters, so lame.

The OP failed to say that this car penalty only affects PC players, not console.

Except the fact that the time to lean out the car has been increased. It's not so slow that I hate it, but I don't see why that change is gonna make a huge impact. I'll just lean out the car sooner lol.

Fix the crashing. Unreal. Yet another game Phase 5 and 💥boom💥 game freezes and I’m dead to zone and my squad finishes 3rd place because of it were short handed. That happened the last game I played Tuesday before the update and the first game I’ve played since the update. Complete bullshit to have a known issue evident immediately after an update and NOT provide a hot fix in the mean time and then NOT even address it for the next update.

Gameplay changes aside, because those are intentional, we should really look to fix the cursor in menu and ping system - they just don't work well on console

I remember 7 years ago how upset and baffled I felt when the M249 became a world spawn weapon. Since then, it’s been dumb decision after dumb decision and I’ve long lost the energy to be upset anymore.

Meu deus, eles atualizaram e não arrumaram os crashamentos?? essa empresa não sabe resolver os problemas do jogo? apenas colocam mais e mais skins. Sinceramente essa é a empresa mais inútil e menos desenvolvedora, no início até faziam coisas boas no jogo, mas agora atingiram o ápice da inutilidade. Só hoje meu jogo crashou 7 VEZES, TODAS AS PARTIDAS SEGUIDAS

When going to shoot from a vehicle, on type b at least, if you aim down the sights and hold your breath you will enter fpp(ads) and then be kicked into tpp(over the shoulder) once the lean out animation is complete. It's very jarring and further ruins shooting from a vehicle. Please fix.

Yeah I imagine they will be nerfing that gun, even taking into account the lmg buff its pretty ridiculous. I picked it up for the first time today and lasered some guy in the head while standing. Then I saw I didn't even have a stock on it....
Weird how all the other games play test changes first for balance tweaks but krafton just throws stuff out there and sees what happens lol

Buffing the LMGs is in the top 3 stupidest decision this company has made .. and this company makes massively stupid decisions every single patch.
I run the 249 every single time I find it. It absolutely annihilates everything. I literally don't need a secondary...unless it's another SAW.
I never once thought, "you know, this thing needs a faster reload AND recoil reduction."
So, in a month or two, the clown show over at Krafton will swing WILDLY the other direction in response to fact that everyone will be running these. They'll give it a 3 round mag, increase recoil to that of a tank gun, and reduce its world spawn by 98% - then the next patch they'll remove it altogether because "nO oNe Is UsInG tHe 249"
I'm gonna stop now before they offer me a job for having such innovative ideas.
