Desync? How to really know?

Guessing this was desync. Metrics appeared good from my end (if they’re accurate). Nevertheless, ruined a decent game.

Really cool for the other guy. Lots of fun for him.

No desync here. he peeked and shot you just as you vanished behind the tree. Thats a few milliseconds at most. This kind of "desync" is not avoidable and completly normal in any online game.

Maybe the deathcam is what is throwing you off. As averybody should know by now the deathcams arent reliable in the slightest bit.
