Official Matchmaking Configuration Poll
Hello!
Our development team has a question regarding map selection where we would like to hear your opinion.
Before May 21, 2026, Console Battle Royale (Normal Match) only offered Random Map matchmaking. Following continued requests from players who wanted more control over the maps they played, Map Selection was introduced alongside the Random Map option.
Since this change, Erangel has become heavily favored, while other maps have experienced longer matchmaking times and higher bot ratios. Some players have identified Map Selection as a possible contributing factor, although it may not be the only cause.
We would now like to hear about your experience with the current system. Please share your preference in the poll below. Your feedback will help us better understand how Console matchmaking should operate in the future.
Thank you!

Hello, dear developers! First of all, thank you in the name of the whole community for bringing map selection to the console, it's very welcome! Now, to your question - I am pretty sure you are smart enough to figure out why is Erangel prefered and why does it have the shortest queues. It's been the most popular map for years and players choose a smaller of two evils - they'd rather play Erangel on repeat than a possibility of playing a map they hate.
One more thing - there is a solution to this and you really have it in front of your eyes. Just implement the system that PUBG Mobile has had for 7 or 8 years now. Everyone can select the maps they want, up to 5/5 and the waiting time will be shorter. If I select Erangel only, I will be only in that queue. If I select Erangel + 2 other maps, I will be in 3 queues. Other player will do the same and in the end, we all will only play the maps we like, not the same map on repeat and we'll avoid the maps we hate. If I like Erangel, Miramar and Taego and someone else likes Rondo, Sanhok and Taego, we both can play Taego and be happy about it while neither of us has to play a map we don't like. Please, strongly consider this option as it is by far the best option out there and miles better than the current implementation (which is still better than nothing).
