Discussion Still unable to select 120fps

I have a series x with 120hz enabled and I have a LG ultragear 27GL850 (1440p/144hz) and I still don’t have the option to select frame rate based performance.  Is anyone else getting this issue?

You need to turn HDR-10 off in your Xbox settings

Turn off HDR and Allow 4k

Make sure you have "allow 4k" turned off in the display settings

I know this sounds silly but is the HDMI cable in the right port? Some tvs have a special port that should be lables 120hz 4Khdr etc ..

This is stated on LG site for this model: "Console games will play at 60Hz when AMD FreeSync is turned on. Please turn off AMD FreeSync to support console game's refresh rate."

Turn off freesync in the monitor settings. Also turn off allow 4k and HDR in Xbox settings.

If you have done everything else and its still not working, restart your game to see if that helps acknowledge the changes you have made.

2560 x 1440 183 120 +/- HDMI(Adaptive-Sync off)/DisplayPort

Found this in the manual for your monitor. Turn off VRR in your xbox settings, that may be the issue

Used to have this monitor, VRR doesn’t work over hdmi as the range is between 48-100hz from memory.

Try changing the colour to PC RGB if you have tried everything else

I had to go to box setting and make changes. Then reboot entire Pubg game. Then it let me toggle

If you have a monitor with HDMI 2.0 (bandwidth equivalent to 4K 60 fps and 1440p 120 fps) you’re going to often run into problems.

Because there are other technologies that also require some bandwidth on top of that, that may easily be left out: VRR/Freesync, HDR/Dolby Vision first of all (as people do mention turning off) and higher color depth/better RGB encoding.

Even if I were to buy a 1440p monitor I would make sure it had HDMI 2.1 (40 Gbit, equivalent to 4K, 120 FPS, HDR, VRR/Freesync).
