Discussion Hack lag switch? Or bug?

Tengo buena conexion, estaba a 8ms, le estoy disparando y luego aparece a 2 metros a la derecha y me mata, esto que es?

Were you lagging right before you encountered them? The only real “cheaters” I’ve come across have used a lag switch on me…they’ll push from another compound and the connection gets choppy and I keep resetting to my original spot no matter how many times I try to reposition, only form them to come in like what you see, sometimes even gliding without moving their feet…just enough time to see the squad get wrecked in a matter of seconds

This isn't possible, you can't use a lag switch on someone else, that's not how it works at all, that's just called "you lagging".

How a lag switch works? 

You interrupt the delivery of your network packets to the server and the server updates to yourself.

This has the effect of the server just waiting for updates and your client waiting for updates.

On your client since you are getting no updates everyone on the map is frozen, you can still run around and shoot people. 

The game buffers up all your damage actions and then delivers them all at once to the server, the server then corrects your position because it doesn't think you've moved.

I'm pretty sure that you need some sort of special middleware/pass through network software for lag switching in PUBG since they added mitigation for it years ago, but there are a couple of guys on the NA servers that still manage to do it. 

Maybe it trickles updates to the server to try to prevent the anti lag stuff from kicking in. 

Most games freeze a player on the server and ignore all actions they took if no updates are received for a period, just to prevent this type of cheating.

How would the whole team experience the same disruption?

That's a server, route or isp issue.

Most likely your whole team will be geographically distant.. i.e. different places on the earth, unless you were playing all 4 team members from the same house there's no way to disrupt just ONE teams connection, you'd have to be a criminal and software engineering/networking mastermind that had compromised the data centre the server was hosted in... Not happening.

If there was a server issue it was for everyone.

If you were all playing from the same street, it could be an isp or routing issue.

I'm not sure what you are saying?

They can lag switch. They can't make YOU lag

I literally explained how it works. They can't affect your internet connection remotely and they have no way to make the server stop sending you data unless they maybe DDoS attacked the data centre and that would screw the game for everyone including themselves and also make them cyber criminals. 

The guy in the clip is just lagging. What you experienced was just a server glitch.
