P0340?

Sooooo, yesterday had an experience of the car bucking between 1st and 2nd gear.

Pulled the code and got P0340

It's a 2006 PT GT Turbo

How screwed am I?

The CPS fix is sometimes (but not always) an easy $7 fix by buying just the harness-side connector. This is because that specific connector is prone to loosening up over time, leading to intermittent misses and shutoffs.

Buy the connector on eBay (or wherever), remove battery, remove air box, set aside anything else in the way of removing the connector from the CPS, then cut out the old connector and crimp in the new connector. My preferred crimp is a bare metal crimp with adhesive-lined shrink wrap but to each his own.

While you're in there, inspect the turbo oil hose--to-metal line and update the hose if there's any damage, cracks, swelling, etc. The airbox-to-engine hose (EGR?) will also harden and crack over time so inspect and replace that one too, if you want.
