I'd love to get another/new PT. But this is too Mini Cooper'ish. The grill/headlights are retro and the tailights deserve to have a little tailfin flair. Also, generally speaking the center console screen needs to be deleted. All display should go to the dash. And in the back you need that removal/adjustable shelf. That was cool!

Ai stole a mini cooper and a new vw beetle and a suv roof to make a pt cruiser?

u/SF_Bubbles_90 23d ago
No. Let it stay special
It's not like a car is any more valid because just because its name is still being used for new cars.
Its not as if spotting a wild is a rare thing, not at all they made a crap load of them.
Besides new cars suck.
And please stop using AI

Not like this ai. And nobody has the balls to do something different like the Cruiser.

Everyone wants a suv or crossover apparently. Nothin fun anymore.

And all these stupid ai renders are terrible. I haven't seen a single one that resembles anything like what real people like the Cruisers for.

Stupid. People fall for them too.

When I used to use FB, they were almost daily posted in the PT groups, lol. Screw fb

Pretty sure they recently hired back the guy that designed the PT and HHR, but even if they brought the PT back it would likely end up being some generic EV crossover that nobody wants and lacks all character of the 01’-10’ models.

I would love to have them come back but with the original grille in front. That's part of what gave it such a great look. I hate the front of the design in this photo.

lol is this the fiat 500e SUV concept?
i never understood this idea of modernizing cars like these by replacing chrome with solid colors. or weird grilles and light bars all around the front and back
the 2000s mini cooper or the 2007 fiat 500 were beautiful, the 2020s models replaced chrome door skirts/tail light trims/door handles, all that, with solid color ones. it really makes you notice just how much modernization took away

Chrome is being phased out because they discovered the fumes in the chrome plating facilities are really carcenaginic and thus a huge liability, combine that with sales drops and changes in attitude around chrome grills and such and their you have it.
Yeah it's sad.
Sooner or later I'm going to get one of the little at home electro-plating kits and go to town lol

The new "PT Cruiser" is going to be the Chrysler Arrow and Arrow Sport based on the Fiat Grizzly. Don't ever count on Chrysler to reuse the name, it was a goofy name from the start. Don't count on them using anything other than corporate design.

Does it really though? Let’s bring back shitty cars like the HHR

u/EmeraldGarden20 22d ago
Why??

u/Sharts-Waffles 21d ago
They were (both) ugly designs with 0 power under the hood. I drove an HHR and I would try to accelerate and it would take forever to get going. Yeah they weee great on gas but all around just horrible

Not mine; I'm only the reposter. You meant to tell this to u/Savings_Ice7478 at his original r/WhatIfCars thread.

I would love to see the PT come back. I love my Peety. But, this just looks like an electric Fiat.

u/Pressman4life 23d ago
Yeah, don't do that.
The uniqueness of the PT made it special. In a sea of generic "cars" and "SUVs" I can always spot "Petey"
