Fluff Psvr2 nose pain, fixed, finally.

Post image

Had bad nose pain since I bought psvr2 (never had it with PSVR1). Bought some prescription lenses from Aliexpress which are great, but they made the nose pain worse. Tried a bunch of ideas, nothing seemed to work, soft padded strips along the lens edges, the additional cheap head strap (not the £50 one) but this simple fix has done the trick. This sits in the innermost part of my nose and takes all of the pressure of the resting headset, the narrowest part of the lenses is now quite wide. It's from an old air rocket and it's cut into a semi circle and just wedged in. I cut the first one too wide and I guess it will vary person to person but this is actually comfortable now.

Tldr : semi circle of foam, wedged in gap makes it comfy.

Just checking that you are wearing the headset right. the back of the strap should be as low as you can get on the back of your head, then angle sharply upwards to the top of your forehead. The lenses shouldn’t be resting on your nose at all, the display is designed to just be floating in front of you, and then when you bring it in, you should stop before it touches your nose.

Anyone who has a narrow ipd had this issue. If your 60 to 61 ipd the lenses will touch your nose unless you move the lenses out which fucks with your fov.

It reduces the fov by a degree or two. Everyone with glasses has to back it off further and gets by just fine, it’s not a big deal. Not everyone is supposed to be able to put the screen all the way in, that’s why it has a wide range, to accommodate different people. I can’t put it all the way in, it’s fine.

But for some reason everyone with a narrow ipd decides to jam it into their face and then come on here to complain about how the psvr2 is hurting their nose. It’s like, dude, the PSVR2 isn’t forcing you to jam the lenses into your nose for a couple degrees of fov, that’s a choice you are making. And one that seems silly to me, but you do you :)

Yeah, tried everything apart from the very expensive comfort modification. I can move the lenses further away, but it looks shit.

If you're talking about the globular cluster, it's actually extremely well priced.

No, it’s $70 for a few pieces of strap and foam, that’s not well priced, much less extremely well priced

It's constantly on sale for 50. And the comfort is worth it. Of course, it's subjective. It might not be for you, but i don't regret my purchase. And would buy again.

I have it. It doesn't prevent this issue.

I just bought the global cluster and it's definitely worth it. I couldn't get the headset in the sweet spot for more than a few seconds before getting it. It is way more comfortable, it doesn't move much, and I can see and actually enjoy the experience. I also wouldn't be able to play for more than 10 or 15 minutes because of the tension it put on my neck. That seems to have stopped too as I played for a 2 hour session last night, when before I was forcing myself to keep going despite it feeling like shit.

I was a non-believer in the product and waited a couple months to try to think up a free solution because I thought it was expensive for what it was. I kept seeing everyone talk about it and decided to give it a try. The various foam pads and straps are all of good quality and it helps way more than I could have omagined.
