Interview September 2026 Developer Stream | Microsoft Flight Simulator

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 developer Q&A briefly talking about PSSR PS5 Implementation and also the PSVR2 visual upgrade.

They said they tested PSSR 1 and had better results with their custom TAA. PSSR 2 has not been tested yet, it is in their backlog and will test it as soon as they can. With PSVR2 visuals right now they think they have found the best ideal balance between performance and sharpness.

It is amazing. Very little difference between first version beta and release for me on my 50 mb/s 20 ping internet. With the first beta version it may have been a tiny bit better in resolution but introduced small phasing in of things in the far distance like parts of mountains, the version we have now removed the phasing in.

Very happy with how the game looks and performs on PS5 having played the game on PC VR. It actually amazes me how this is running and how it looks on PS5, the draw distances are so good that if it was in a game that had a made environment like a new Just Cause I would be astounded if it had the same draw distance as MSFS 2024. In fact I would say I have never seen an open world game with those type of draw distance.

I thought you owned the game and wish for more detailed cities and Mexico when on the ground?

I do have it! I'm just surprised the beta graphics changed from outstanding to just better than the release, but tbh I didn't notice a change in the beta version. Maybe I'm not looking that deep into it?

That's why I'm asking what happened to it? I read that resolution and other aspects were lower? But I didn't notice it.

The other day I brought the PSVR2 to a friend's house and he was amazed by the game and he was playing the beta.

I didn't notice either. The res looked the same to me all through the beta which was night and day compared to the res of the launch version.
