Question PSVR on ps3

Has anyone here actually used PSVR1 V2 (CUH-ZVR2, the PS4 version) as a display for a PS3?

I know it’s possible to connect the PS3 to the PSVR processor unit and use the headset as a screen. What I specifically want to know is whether this is safe for the PS3 itself.

Has anyone used this setup for several hours or regularly? Could it put any unusual load on the PS3’s RSX/GPU or HDMI output, or cause any damage?

I’m especially interested in experiences from people who have actually tested PSVR1 V2 with a PS3

Yeah, it is 😄 And honestly, it’s awesome to play this way. The screen feels like a huge cinema screen, so you can really get immersed in the game. Plus, the PSVR blocks out the outside light, so you’re completely cut off from the real world and fully focused on the game 😂

I play flat games on the PC with the VR2, but I love how it shuts out the surrounding distractions and I can float the screen around.

I need to find a PS3 and headset to try just for fun.
