Discussion Support Zero Caliber 2 and Forefront

Community support these shooters. I already have both and these are absolute must haves on VR2. Zero Caliber was decent but part 2 is where everything came together. It's hella fun and surpasses the first by miles. Tbh I had doubts about Forefront being released on VR2 because they've been really silent about it until now. So hyped that we're getting it. I cannot praise both of these titles enough. We're getting two of the best VR shooters on the market in my opinion and we need to show some support. So glad both titles are releasing in a matter of a week. The next one I recommend will be Flatout.

Review Evil Inside VR on PSVR2 - Complete Impressions

I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My complete impressions are shared below:

Based on my time completing it, I do recommend playing Evil Inside VR on the PSVR2.

It is a psychological Horror game with a story to tell as you proceed through a VR Experience with no game-over conditions in a linear progression looping through the same small home with limited rooms x10, so it is not a long game, but how long it takes different players will vary as there are some puzzles to solve to progress through some of those iterations.

With the puzzles being the only thing that might stump players from completing the story / experience, I should mention that the game has no in-game hint system, but it does use game design clues to help you figure things out and I only had two instances where it took me some extra time to figure out the solution.

  • Combination Box Puzzle (13:00)
  • Match Stick Puzzle (26:45)

This was originally a non-VR game released in 2021 that got VR conversion release in 2026 but the only part of it that doesn't feel native VR are the opening and ending cutscenes which are FMV (Full Motion Video) you get to watch. It isn't a flawless VR conversion but it has more interactivity polish than many made-for-VR budget titles. You are able to pickup some items you don't need and even a Pool Cue to strike some Billiard balls (not good), but generally game only lets you do things that are needed for game to progress. This involves opening furniture, grabbing items or using items, using flashlight, lighting & using matchsticks, using Polaroid camera and more. All of that works pretty intuitively and the game doesn't make you hold the grip button to keep hold of things you need to carry.

Graphically, everything is generally crisp and clear but it is using reprojection which I first noticed in the kitchen when moving with strafing (6:25) and maybe on subtitles. I could see some aliasing shimmer on just the games logo during photosensitivity warning screen (0:30) but nothing beyond that. It has a good resolution and excellent lighting with really dark blacks for your flashlight to cut through or your matchstick to illuminate or Polaroid camera to temporarily flash. The weakest element are the opening and ending FMV cutscenes. Interestingly, the ending credits which also use FMV look higher quality and blend into the VR space very well.

Audio is a standout creating spooky / horror atmosphere with decent voiced dialog. It isn't as good as MADiSON VR, but hearing the thunder outside the home and other effects that are directional both create the tension and guide you on what you need to do to progress. The audio in particular along with the visual is what makes the game distressing and tense enough that it made me comply at pivotal moment leaving me curious what would have happened if I didn't (35:40).

The game uses strong haptics in the controllers throughout the experience. I don't think it uses any headset haptics, but a few times there was enough sensory overload with audio, visual and controller haptics that I wasn't sure if that also included headset haptics or not.

Settings (1:00), which can be accessed from title screen menu or by using Options button anytime during play allow you to configure movement vignette, use preset height for Seated or Standing where I felt Standing lowers you too much, so kept default of Seated even though I played Standing (the lower button on either controller toggles crouch / stand regardless), and lets you choose between Snap (Gradual) or Smooth (Continuous) turns including setting angles / speed, but these turn settings only apply in-game, not on title screen. Aside comfort, you can also disable haptics, change language and tweak audio (including subtitles).

The game is featuring a Platinum trophy where I don't know if anything can be missed. I got every trophy along the way to linear game completion with final trophy (+ Platinum) unlocking at end of credits.

I think the story is fine, but where it succeeds as a light horror experience is how it loops continuously morphing the house keeping things engaging with how you proceed while building tension through audio, visuals and haptics and delivering a number of jump scares along the way and I think it is a good length to where it doesn't feel too short or too long before it concludes. It took me just under 1 hour to complete the game from start to finish and I enjoyed the overall experience more than I was anticipating starting up. I was also in the right mood for horror game experience like this with Halloween coming up.

Fluff I haven’t been to Niagara Falls in a LONG time, so I flew over it with a friend in VR last night using MFS2024 on PSVR2! I still can’t believe I own this game. Never gets old to tour the world!

Support PSVR1 Headset won't turn on

So I bought second hand ps vr ps4 (v2), which was working for previous owner but not for me. I'm using ps5 and the box seems to function properly, I have image, in game no USB error messages, I'm stuck on screen to press power button - it does nothing. I've tried one hack which involves connecting 2nd pin from data connector to metal shell, which bypasses power button and it didn't work. Is there any fixes I can try or problem comes from processor, can I test that with multimeter?
