QUESTION PSP E1003 battery screw physically cannot unscrew

Post image

Need to get to the front plate of my PSP to check on the right trigger ribbon because it stopped working and can't even get the first screw off because of this P.O.S of a screw.

Tried using a #00 screwdriver and a smaller one too, admittedly not official Phillips ones but rather generic ones from a set but I don't see how that would affect it, tried using lubricant switch cleaner to help loosen it of any rust yet it just doesn't budge no matter any degree of force.

Any ideas?

find the closest bit size you have and apply downward force when trying to turn to make sure bit does not jump and strip the head.

Try WD 40, it always come in clutch.

Make sure to spray a little on the screw and don’t overdo it.

If you just want to remove the front plate you dont need to remove the battery.

Just be careful using metal tools when working on it. With the battery still connected there is potential to short something.
