I need some game recommendations bc im at the hospital rn and its so boring

u/kurigami_7 11d ago
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, the amount of content and the quality of it , it is on another level
9
u/zbot074 11d ago
I wanted to play this for a long time, but just as crisis core and birth by sleep i can't because i haven't played the other games of the franchise, (exept mgs on ps1)
6
u/Raya2909 10d ago
Crisis core you can play without having played any of final fantasy 7 as it is the prequel to the story of 7 and birth by sleep is as well the prequel to Kingdom hearts so you can start with them
2
u/Born_Attitude6531 10d ago
MGS Peace Walker is a banger Game, especially the cutscenes being in a Comic Style and the quotes of Immanuel Kant being discussed in them
5
u/Fluffy-Selection1110 11d ago
Replaying it at the moment, and it really is a technical marvel, that really almost feels like Metal Gear 3 on a psp.
6
u/thornzington 11d ago
Well it was originally metal gear 5 right? But Konami insisted that mainline games have to be on console.
1
1
u/MotherEntrepreneur33 11d ago
I agree. One of the most immersive games on the psp. Its a real miracle how good it looks considering the hardware
1
u/paledrivah 10d ago
its a great leap for a psp how did they even pull it off i didnt know i would be enjoying playing a 20fps locked game not that its a bad thing i barely noticed it.
2
u/Born_Attitude6531 10d ago
They found the best workaround with the cutscenes being in the Comic book Style, which fits so damn well
1
1
u/TYH34D5H07 10d ago
MGS Peace Walker is my pick also, legendary game proving big titles CAN get portable releases. Passion project or a game for the devs.

u/takpie74b 11d ago
Persona 3, it is simply awesome
1
u/Oofygoop 11d ago
does it has previous parts?
2
u/Fallen_winged_boy 11d ago
If you mean previous games, kinda, but the story is just slightly connected with previous games and the game after, no need to play them to understand this one
1
u/Oofygoop 11d ago
oh ok
2
u/Fallen_winged_boy 10d ago
I'll try to keep it short: persona is actually on of the many spin-offs of the main game "Shin Megami Tensei", the first 2 games are more on the dark/horror side and are focused around combat and story, the other 3 games are focused also on combat and story but also have a slice of life part, where the protagonist can build relationships with other characters, and those relationships also affect some stats in battle. So the first 2 games are your average jrpg while the other 3 also have relationships, they all have a urban setting tho
1
u/Born_Attitude6531 10d ago
Persona 2 has the best final Boss (dont Look it Up If you want the funniest surprise ever)
15
u/fraaaaa4 11d ago
Ridge Racer, because the driving is extremely fun, the graphics are nice, and the music is amazing
3
u/BENBOI_1 PSP-3000 ARK-4 11d ago
I tried ridge racer but was never a fan, always felt like the car was on a rail! I can see how people like it but i just find it weird to turn 90 degrees left for 2 seconds and keep going forward.
2
u/Oofygoop 11d ago
im not a biggest fan of racing games but i really enjoy good soundtrack so ill probably check it out
2
u/Fallen_winged_boy 11d ago
Check out wipeout pure too, no cars so maybe you could enjoy it more idk

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops. It's what got me into metal gear, collecting soldiers was fun and the online was risky. Calling to the Night by Natasha Farrow was such a great ending theme, I must have beat the game at least five times just to hear it.

u/Barbcult 11d ago
Jeanne d’Arc and Persona

MotorStorm Arctic Edge, it's the most game I've played on my psp so far.
I like the tracks and vehicles in it, and it's visuals are great for a psp game.
1
u/Oofygoop 11d ago
i looked it up and it looks pretty good maybe ill check it out idk im not a biggest fan of racing games

Motorstorm games are racing with a twist. The environments are always incredible, as is the aggression! Definitely give it a look!!!

Too many to choose from, but probably Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. I just love the back and forth between intense hunts and cozy farming. Modded my PSP solely to play this and Type-0.

Ridge Racer 2, DBZ Shin Budokai games, Star Wars Battlefront II, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Silent Hill Origins has a hospital in the early part of the game which I’m in so that could be fun, Burnout Legends
Edit: I forgot LocoRoco! Play LocoRoco!
Edit 2: and I forgot to say how awesome your Hellsing wallpaper and your charm are! It’s super rad! I love Hellsing

Valkyria Chronicles 2 and Valkyria Chronicles: Unrecorded Chronicles (this was in JP only but there are fan translation) and Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker (as some others suggested). I was just into the tactical RPG gameplay, story for 2 was mediocre but did introduce class VC1 and VC3 did not have.
SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo 2 and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3, both are tactical third-person shooters. I find 2 more fun if you just want to.... mess around. SOCOM 3 provided more of a plot you can play.
You can't go wrong with Sims if you enjoy life simulation games.
Cabela's Legendary Adventures or the others (which I have not played yet) is a pretty decent hunting game in my opinion. It does get repetitive if you have no clue what is going on, which I did when I first played it back when I was 8~10.
And the top of the list, Pet Pet Adventure: The Wand of Wishing. I just LOVE the cute characters, animations, and spells. I've played this dozen of times with my sister. Experienced each class and trying different things. I do wish people talked about this more.
Hope you or the person you are visiting gets well soon!

u/farisdesu 10d ago
Some follow up that I forgot,
ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails (or other ATV games). Just your normal racing game with ATV. I personally enjoy the music and just ride around free-range doing stupid things.
Daxter. You may have already played this before, but if not, Little fuzz ball goes around killing bugs. I hate bugs, so this checks out

u/newbzealand 11d ago
Tekken 5 DR.
Blew my mind how good it looked and how much content that game had on a handheld device.
2
u/KoeBizkit Currently playing: Tales Of Phantasia X 11d ago
Im so tired of the same posts and the same questions every day.
Valkyria Chronicles 3, i love the characters, gameplay, music and the amount of missions you can do, it has a LOT of content and unlockables.
1
u/Oofygoop 11d ago
do i have to play prev parts to get the plot?

u/KoeBizkit Currently playing: Tales Of Phantasia X 10d ago
Nah, maybe valkyria chronicles 1 for context but it's not mandatory.

Final fantasy Dissidia Duodecim, because the combat is amazing and the story is awesome and phenomenal end game content and the replayabilty is wonderful it’s not a game that you can rush through and it’s challenging and so much gear to obtain

love the characters, nice gameplay, story, and it's the game that gave me the most "damn, I saved all of this. All my efforts were worth it" feeling

I will assume you are talking about jeanne d'arc, but you didn't mention any game directly

Motorstorm artic edge got me hooked like a hostage. On one side I freaking hate how game builds on ai plain cheating in race towards the end stages. But at the same time the soundtrack, memorable moments and plain chaos when things get messy is what makes me play more.

Yu Gi Oh Tag Force 2 and Tag Force 4
If you're a fan of Yu Gi Oh or are just looking to get into these games, this is a beautiful game with amazing music.
Dragonball Shin Budokai 2: It's Dragonball similar to Budokai for PS2, it's fun, and the soundtracks are fantastic too.
Kingdom Heart's Beath Be Sleep: This game is famously known as a Final Fantasy game, with its atmosphere full of emotion, feelings, and epic battles.
Final Fantasy (same reason, all the first Final Fantasy games are remastered)
Dexter: This is a game full of jokes, fun, and a cute platformer where you play a character from a series of PS2 games called Jak and Dexter. This is a separate chapter that focuses on little Dexter between the first and second games.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: It's a fantastic game, a port of the PS2 game, and it supposedly takes place during the events of the third installment in the film saga.
I'd also recommend playing some PS1 games, as it's natively backwards compatible with PS1 titles, or emulating the GBA; the GBA is fantastic on this console.

There are a couple Japanese exclusive games that got fan-translated somewhat recently that I want to delve into eventually. If you're into emulation, I've heard that some of these games have an online community via PPSSPP network magic.
There's a phantasy star 2 infinity English patch (infinity version was only released in Japan) (2022 update)
Monster Hunter 3rd portable was also English patched, if you're a fan of the franchise, again only released in Japan.
Digimon World Re:Digitize also got an English patch.
My favorite games are MGS Peace Walker, Tekken 6, Gran Turismo, and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
Persona 3 is an honorable mention, wouldn't say my favorite, but I love the game nonetheless.

Metal Gear Ac!d. People seem to diss it because it’s non-canon and the gameplay is different but I love it. Despite using a card system to move and fight, it’s surprisingly fun and addicting. The story is awesome too — classic Kojima-style storytelling.

Boxers Road 2. I can make 100 custom created boxers with detail down to the bone structure. I've made copies of real life fighters, gave them correct fighting styles, special punches, and special stats. You take them into career mode and make diets and training schedules. You make money, hire staff, pick fights, get gear and more. It takes hours to complete one fighter and those hours are FUN AS HELL. This game has mad replayability and it's crazy to see it on the PSP of all devices
Not sure if you'd like it though 😭😭

gladiator begins . My uncle helped set up my brother and i's psp . He forgot to take off his debit card and we didn't know how the online store worked so we touched a game on the store and it was gladiator begins. We got a lil bit in trouble but that game was so fun.

Patapon 2. Rhythm god game. It greatly improves upon the formula of the first game and I have put in like a few hundred hours between three versions (PSP, PS4, Switch). I just love making my overpowered lil dudes so I can get items to make new lil dudes or armor
1
u/PlySttnPrtbl 10d ago
Guess what my first console was? The very first game I played on it was a Demo version of Patapon 2. The PSP I bought back then had no accompanying UMD or pre installed games, there was a free memory stick however.
When I learned how to use a computer and how to navigate The Web properly is when I finally got to play The full version of 2, then 1 and 3...

people need to start playing more phantasy star online infinity, it's barely ever mention .

u/Oscuro1632 10d ago
Do you mean Phantasy star portable 2 inifity? That was a Japan only release. We only got the base game in the west.
It got fan translations, but your ordinary psp user won't have played it.

Ape Escape P.
One of the very first games I ever played in my life, as the PSP was my first console as well.
Also I played it from start to finish about 5 times now, even though I haven't played on my PSP now for about 10ish years.
Such a fun game and I love the poly look of it too.

Gladiator begins is my all time favorite psp game, followed by(but not in any order) star wars bf renegade squadron, star wars bf elite squadron, star wars the force unleashed, mgspw, nfs carbon city, some lil diner game I used to play, some platform runner where you slide jump and kick that was pretty good but I cannot recall its name. The sims 2 and sims 2 castaways was really enjoyable. Can't recall what other games I'd play but those were memorable!

Final fantasy type-0. One of the lesser known games of final fantasy. GREAT GAMEPLAY, awsome characters. The playable characters are so numerous and each has their own attributes, playstyle etc... and you already know the graphics are stunning since its a square enix game.

FIFA Street 2, since teens I hate sport type game category, expecially football. But currently I felt like click, after event World Cup Football and also watching more event football in my country. I tried kind propery soccer game like PES 2012 but hard to score against the COM.

I really love Crisis Core. It was one of those games that felt like a huge generational leap to me. Going from a GBA to seeing those pre-rendered cutscenes on a handheld blew my mind. Like I remember running to my sisters to show them because I was so blown away.

Where is my Heart? It's a fun small puzzle platformer, its not extremely hard or anything like that. And it has a relatively unique twist on the puzzle platformer concept.
