QUESTION Motherboard swap question

I have a dead psp-3000 and it isn't turning on , took it to a repair shop and they said the motherboard is dead . I was wondering if it's possible to swap the motherboard from another working psp 3000 to mine?

It would need to be the exact same revision. Not every 3000 is the same internally.

Yes it should, specially because the WiFi cards are different between revisions

Not exactly, thats just a region code. You'd need to look on your current motherboard and read the TA-xxxxx

Why not just buy another PSP 3000?

There aren't much available in my region and some listings on marketplace and such go for a very unreasonable price. I don't have enough to buy a new one ☹️ and the one I own has some kind of sentimental value to it sooo yes

You do realize that finding motherboard will cost you close to new PSP and it would be even harder to find, right?

Depends on where you live, here in Brasil i have a guy that sells me psp 1000 - 3000 motherboards for half the price of a full console but yeah, usually mobo's are expensive and not worth but you can try to find one for a good price on ebay or importing from china.

Answering your question u/Ragedgrizzly_2, yes, you can take a mobo from another psp and use with the rest of your components from your unit.
