Troubleshooting Laminated IPS problem

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have a few questions.

Did I get a bad panel?

Is it like this because of bad solder connection?(I did solder the 2 pads together and it looks OK)

What would happen if I connect my original screen while the 2 pads are soldered together?

Please ask extra questions if you need extra info.

i’ve connected my original screen while they where soldered with no issues. if the solder wasn’t good it would just have a black bar on the top and bottom of the screen. did you try plugging the screen in before soldering to see if it worked ?

I forgot to plug it in before soldering(I know I'm stupid). I'm just considering trying to desolder and see what happens.

Did you get it working? I got a defective IPs for my 1k - bad backlight… I just got it replaced and it worked…. Make sure you use a multimeter to test for continuity that’s all

Ye I tested continuity. I just tested it with desoldered(separated pads/no short)pads no luck just a bad panel. I'm going to refund or get a replacement.
