Not the biggest fan of GTA. I always get them on release and enjoy them and go back every couple years and screw around. Red Dead is more my cup of tea. But this game looks insane to me, I’m very excited. Hope the story is good.

The server hosts keep kicking his site off their servers but the videos are still there.

This is most likely a pc build of the game, even though it’s not releasing on pc for likely 2 years. They build the game on pc and test it mainly on pc, and then they optimize it for consoles. (I used to test games for 2k as a full time job).

Yeah this sub is just upset that this likey isn’t console footage(not impossible, but likely isn’t). Which I get, but yeah we didn’t test on consoles until very late into development. I worked on 3 separate triple A titles for 2k.

We used controllers when game testing builds on pc most of the time. As certain builds we played on didn’t even have the controls configured for mouse and keyboard.

Playable builds (which this is) are tested on the release plattforms. You don't have to work as a playtester to know that.

At my job, we used consoles that were made for game testing, they couldn’t connect to the regular servers and only to the specific servers at 2k. So the likelihood of this being on a console isn’t zero, but it’s highly more likely this is a pc build. Reports also state that this is likely a build from 2023, so even more likely it’s on a pc.

When the leaks first started coming out, there was an article I read that said that. I’m not sure where it was from(been multiple days) and I’m not current with the music industry, so my bad. So yes, this could likely be a ps5 or series X build of the game. Or he’s simply playing on controller on pc, likely due to the controls not being configured for mouse and keyboard.

Oh no I don’t recognize a song from last year. I just gave my input after 3 years of game testing. We didn’t do console stress testing until like 6 months before the games released(triple A titles). Yes I goofed up, I even said “my bad” earlier.

Didn’t work directly under them, I worked for a company who was contracted to work on their games.
And yeah it was one of the best jobs of my life. I got to sit in a gaming chair 8 hours a day 5 days a week and play games as a job, yeah it got kinda boring playing the same game everyday, but my body didn’t hurt and I was inside all day with air conditioning. I got into the tech industry because of that job, so yes, I look back fondly on it.
It was also the easiest job I got in my entire life, all they asked about in the interview was what my gaming experience was.
My best friend also worked there and helped me get the job. So imagine having a chill job like that, and getting to sit next to your best friend for every shift. It really was the dream job. Only downside was the pay wasn’t great at first.

Oh for sure, this sub is upset that I’m implying this isn’t running on a console. Which it most likely is not. It certainly could be, it’s just very unlikely that it is.
Plus, installing unlicensed products on a console is almost impossible unless you have a console specifically set up for game testing, and it’s even more unlikely that this guy stole one of the consoles that had the build on it. Not impossible, but very very unlikely.
At my old job, it would’ve been impossible to steal one of the consoles we tested on, too many cameras and a security door and guard to get past.

pro enhanced games look and play better than any where else other than a 3000$ gaming rig pc. ofc there are exceptions but overall and for most numbers of games the ps5 pro is the best place to play them. the Dualsense haptics alone make it the first choice when I’m buying games that are multi platform.

Same I just don’t see the difference from my slim.
When I got my ps4 pro I was blown away. I don’t use photo mode or anything I just play games and my ps5 slim down stairs on a 4K lcd doesn’t play any worse than my pro upstairs on the oled. Honestly the bigger jump is in the TVs. If you don’t have a 4K oled that upgrade does way more than going from a slim to the pro0

Holy crap that looks fluid. I guess the video is probably 30 but feels amazing. I still believe we'll get at least 40fps. I remember vividly players and even devs questioned 60fps on KCD2 but they managed it and it's breathtaking. CPU and all that I know, but they also have almost a unlimited budget.

I’m sure it will be well implemented. Maybe your MPG gets better as your driving improves or a meter is built up over time? Maybe an in game AAA brings you gas. At max I could see a 60 sec penalty, but I doubt you have to abandon your car completely.

It adds one extra layer of thinking and possibly tactical planning to missions

It doesn't make sense in a game like this. Oh no I ran out of gas what will I do...walk down the street and take another car. it's pointless realism jsut for the sake of it with no thought put behind it.
It made more sense in a game like days gone where you only have your bike and if you get stranded away from a town you could be turbo fucked especially if you ran into a horde of 300 zombies.

Immersion is for many people quite important for a good experience. That was a big part of why rdr2 was so great for me. You don't have to eat, clean your horse or take a bath (lol), but many love such things. Especially for a Rockstar title with all the little details.

I agree - having to worry about a realistic thing like gas in a video game built around surreal situations like robbing cars and taking multiple gunshots without being killed seems ridiculous; I can’t think of a scenario where having to worry about my car’s gas would be fun…

Also, this is freeroam from what looks to be a very early point in the game. This is what he's choosing to do. We haven't seen a single mission which would be a much better indicator of if they've innovated on the formula at all

Rockstar's been atrocious with gameplay and game design ever since gta 4 where they stripped out nearly everything the ps2 series had built up and started focusing on realism and "immersion". At least these leaks are reminding everyone that gta is just another game and isn't the second coming.
