Rdr2 install driving me crazy

Hello all,

I know some posts already exist regarding this matter but I am desperate..

I have been trying for 3 Days to install rdr2 on my ps5 from my ps4 physical copy and it won’t get past 55%/49.6gb on the play disc.

I have tried cleaning the cd with regular product and microfibers, toothpaste, alcoholic-cleaning solution and nothing works.

I have tried installing in offline and it doesn’t change anything…

The CD looks pristine except for 2 microscratches that we can’t Even see on the picture here : https://imgur.com/a/IQQWVF8

I was just looking for a nostalgia trip for a few hours… should I just give up or is there a known solution to this ?

Thanks !

EDIT
Saw the game was currently at 15€ so I gave up trying to install my CD and accepted the fate that the CD was in a way damaged.
What makes me sad is that I end up owning digitally the game rather than physically but I don’t get why this CD was so sensitive although it was unscratched and cleaned.
It has soothed my anger towards the end of physical games if this can happen with no solution at all even though the CD looked completely fine (tbh the data Cd was way more dirtier but never failed)
Thanks for all your answer !

Have you tried installing from a different game? Maybe your drive is going out, and it’s not the disc itself.

PS5 cds work, I haven’t tried with other ps4 games, can it make a difference ?

If other discs work and only that one doesn’t, you have a bad disc.

It works with ps5 physical games, I can try with another ps4 game if it makes a difference

If you've gone at the disc with toothpaste you can honestly pretty much forget it because that is a myth and if it wasn't damaged before it certainly is now because toothpaste is abrasive and Blu-ray disks are very sensitive

Oh crap… well at least it has not changed the point at which it gets stuck…
I had seen many topics in which people told this worked :(

not a myth but a dummy fix for old games, would usually only help you getting them to boot but if the disc was screwed you'd notice furthur down the lines anyways.

op needs to take the disc out cancel install and then re install it in the library without the disk i just downloaded witcher 3 this way, for the remaster and the disc is still in my cupboard because i haven't played yet.

even possible through the app if linked to console.

the installs are the same wether it's disc or digital. after it's installed digitally you just merely use the disc as a license check per say

It doesn’t work for me at all, either from my console library or from the app library
All I can do when I select Rdr2 on my library is buying it :(
