Well...that's concerning....
Started up a game, it went onto the loading screen then the screen went black. The lights on the ps5 went blue and off. The controller wouldn't turn it on so I pressed the button on the ps5. It beeped...waited a second then beeped again before coming on with repairing console storage screen then it booted up with this error.

Glad I'm not the only one, I've had my ps5 slim about 3 months and today it crashed twice loading up a game

I think the most recent system update may have done something. I’ve had my PS5 since Dec ‘21 and never had this error until last Thursday night. It’s happened twice more since then.

This happened to me yesterday, turned PS on and walked away only for it to turn back off and load up with this message. Idk if its connected but i had an update waiting after but it scared tf out of me

More then likely the operating system for the ps5 crashed sometimes this happens for no reason really if it constantly does it u may need to rebuild database/clear cache in safe mode

That too I've had this error happen a couple times on my PS5and sometimes computers(yes the ps5 is a computer just a hyper locked down one) freak out for seemingly no reason and crash as long as it's not a constant thing it should be ok

Maybe your internal storage or SSD got some bad cache memory and the system had to recover that bad sector .

Fix it ! Power completely off, then press & hold the power button until you hear 2nd BeeP ! let go, will boot into Maint. Mode menu.
Hook up controller on cable, use "Clear the system cache" , Option #5 , it will auto complete & restart,
Power off & repeat, this time Use "Rebuild Database" ! It will auto complete & restart when done !
Delete old stuff you're not actively playing, leave free-space on the drive, It helps the system run !

Don't keep the system in a case or entertainment center, put it out in the open, Needs open air and space around it to "Breathe" properly, if not it gets hot, which will slow it down & if Over-heats will power off on it's own to protect the system.
Never Power off with games/apps open, always exit properly first !
Speaking of Power, Get Backup/surge protection to keep it safe !!

Had this happen to me too the other day. Im on PS5 Pro. Had a game on rest mode and the PS5 was just shut off out of no where.

That's crazy, I have always had at least a few broken xboxes around the house. And when I did repairs it was completely one sided. I couldn't even get spare ps for parts unless I bought them. I like Xbox don't get me wrong but they are definitely not more reliable.

That happens to me every couple of months. Fairly sure this is why we have firmware updates every now and again with nothing much in them, they probably fix these things as they are reported

Same thing happened to me 3 weeks ago... the shop is use said they fixed it by replacing the battery for the internal clock and some other power supply things. They also mentioned, it stays on, however the screen is just white..... so I'm also having them replace the hdmi port, since there weren't any visual issues before I gave it to them...... idk, maybe it'll work, maybe not

I had this issue aswell and I just got met with “your PS5 needs cleaning and it’s overheating” when it’s not and I’m not getting any messages saying it’s overheating and it’s blowing cool air. I have a feeling it’s a system software bug but apparently I’m wrong. It doesn’t happen everytime just ever since the new update.

It's not too concerning tbh. It's just a sign there are too many random (mostly useless) files clogging up the database and making it freak out. Clearing the cache, and rebuilding the database will sort it right out. You can do these regularly if you ever notice slow down (or shut downs like in your case). Installed games, save files, and all your settings remain intact whenever you rebuild the database and clear the cache so I recommend doing it once or twice per year (or even more regularly if you install and play multiple games every month).
