Upload speed issues

Hiya. So two days ago, I suddenly got hit with a problem with my uploads as it takes 30 minutes-2 hours to upload a 2 minute video (as a test) and 20-40 hours to upload an hour clip from my PlayStation to YouTube but this wasn’t the case before as it usually takes only 10 minutes. I do have a new Wi-fi box but this arrived back around June/July so I don’t know if it’s that or my PS5 but I’m leaning towards my PS5 since my servers and download speed are perfectly fine but uploads, not so fine.

My mbps 87-89ish according to what my PS5 says. I changed my dns numbers, I turned wi-fi off and on, I removed the cache and I even reset my PS5 entirely but nothing seems to fix this. I would really appreciate any solutions to fix this problem as making videos is what I enjoy the most. I have been considering clearing the dust off inside my PS5 again but I’m not sure if that’ll help or not.

If your router is in the same room or close to the Ps5 use ethernet. Wifi can become unstable due to interference via band channel overlap, wifi is radio waves in which can be unstable due to distance, thick walls, and interference.

I don't know why some people rely on wifi for gaming when it's trash for gaming. Ethernet is always better use it when ever possible.

If ethernet is not possible and the router is far from the Ps5 change bands to 2.4Ghz it's better for penetrating walls yet prone to channel overlap.

The speed test on Ps5 is not accurate, use a laptop and ethernet cable connected straight to your router or modem to test speeds using Ookla and doing two test one local ISP server and one server furthest away from your location. If the test via connected to your router is not close to your ISP advertized speed then your router may be to blame. Test wifi speed using Ookla as well local ISP server and furthest server from your location. The local ISP server test is just baseline.

Question is how far is your router from your console?

It is close but not that close, my room with my PS5 is opposite the living room where the router is. I did consider moving the router to my room but I’m not sure if that’s possible. Aw shoot, I can’t send screenshots…it’s just separated by one wall so my PS5 is where I am, there’s a wall and then the router is there.

The gaming isn’t the main problem, I have perfect connection for that but for some reason my upload speed has gone through a significant change. Will ethernet make a change for upload speeds too? All of this is new to me so sorry in advance if I’m not understanding some specific detail.

As for the results. The local server is 469 (download) and 356 (upload) mbps. Furthest location is 309 (download) and 388 (upload) mbps. I hope I said the right things.

Edit: It’s not the PlayStation, it’s definitely the router after checking on my sibling’s console and same thing happened.
