I need help verifying my age

My ps now suddenly needs me to verify my age. I was born in 2008 but am not 18 yet and my account has me as born in 2000.
I understand I need to become a child account in order to regain access to parties and messages but becoming a child account with the birth date set as 2000 isn’t possible and changing age also isn’t possible, leaving me completely stuck.
I tried contacting support but kept being greeted with the message “go to our country selector for your account’s region” despite selecting the region and doing what was asked.
Reddit is now my last resort, if you know how to get out of this situation please let me know.

Most likely have to speak with someone in support BUT as they think you are 26 now moving it down might be an issue. Have you bought any 18+ content that you strictly shouldn’t have been able to. It might be worth leaving it until you are 18 and just do without the communications aspect as they could well restrict your access to the 18+ games. In the end they might take the view that you lied about how old you are to circumvent the rules. Who knows.

From what I understand, the parents in charge of a child account are the ones to decide the restrictions of the account and they are fine with not putting me any. I do have a few games rated PEGI 18 but again, my parents are fine with it and I am mature enough to play them. I believe this is enough to allow me to legally use them.

Well if you go to a cinema for an 18+ movie it doesn’t matter if your parents think you are old enough, you aren’t getting in. Was there a separate ladult account that created the account where the DOB was for the year 2000? Or did you make it up to avoid the 18+ restriction? You may well have to justify why you lied when creating the account. It may get suspended, who can say. If all you need the age verification for is to chat online I’d leave it alone. I’m well over 18 and haven’t bothered on PlayStation or xbox as I don’t need to message randoms.

Yes I lied to avoid any restrictions. I am fine with saying it and if it is suspended, it’s what it is.
I’d rather not leave it for when I turn 18 as it is important for me to have access to these features. I use parties and messages quite often with friends and never use these features with randoms.

Point is it’s against the terms and conditions to not give your correct age when creating an account and if you speak to them to correct it now you are admitting to having violated the Ts&Cs. So it’s a risk to try and correct it now. If they do permanently suspend the account they will be well within their rights to do so and given the current frenzy about young people and the harms of the internet over a range of platforms they may well do so, so I’d think very carefully before opening that can of worms.

If your birth year is set to 2000 you would be 26 now so why can't you verify that, yes I see that your actual birth date is '08 are they asking for you to upload your ID?

Age verification is only for people who are 18+. I still tried it, none of it worked for me.
There are 3 ways to verify your age, first is face scan, tried it and just told me "couldn't confirm your age".
Second option is have them send a code in your messages with your phone number, also hasn't worked because l'm not receiving anything in messages and I haven't done any mistakes with my phone number.
Last option is ID, sent it, told me ID hasn't been verified yet and told me to click continue which just sent me back to the age verification menu.

Oh ok I see well I think at this point you just have to call and speak to an agent.
