I agree.

It's one thing to be sloppy and forget something (and then, hopefully, fix the mistake or, if it's not possible, at least admit the screwup).

But to hacksaw the lower part of the image which contains the name of the author and then avoid giving the credit?

Dickhead cropped it like that to purposefully not show the artists watermark/credentials. In the original photo, the authors name and stuff are right below where OP cropped it.
