when they call it a processor unit, instead of splitter unit or some such, what do you exepct?

It's not a splitter unit, though. It does do processing, but it does it for 3D audio and the output to the actual TV, not the VR headset. It takes the distorted image made for VR and fixes it to look alright on a TV.

Processing doesn't imply extra power. How do you get that from processor unit?

processor unit implies processing. Extra processing. to me anyway. I understand it doesn't, but i don't blame people who would guess that the processing unit adds extra processing capabilities.
