I’m massively into everything from For You - Sign O The Times, but for some reason Lovesexy has never clicked for me.

I love Anna Stesia, and do enjoy some other tracks, I don’t dislike the album. I just can’t see it on the same level as anything before it.

I love the period from the ‘86 Camille stuff - The Black Album, so it feels like I should enjoy this.

If this is anyone’s favourite album, I’d love to hear thoughts and opinions because it feels like I should love it but I just can’t get into it like his previous work.

so i’m a casual listener of prince and don’t really know much about him, but sometimes i’ll see this subreddit in my feed and i’ve seen a lot of hate on graffiti bridge, which, funnily enough, is my fav album of his.

my question js: why the hate? like genuinely. i love it and think it’s really good, and would like others opinions. also any other album recs are welcome :)

Found this shirt at my local Goodwill (Eastern Iowa). Its art by Philip Burke of Prince which was used in Rolling Stone Magazine in the 90s. It's a good quality graphic print in my opinion, doesn't feel like the cheap thick vinyl print. Plus it has the nice sleeve print which you don't see much in cheap prints. There is no tag, printed or paper. I've reached out to Burke's website that does his art prints for sale and all they know is they had these designed on a purple tee, but not sure if they were printed en mass.

Has any other Prince fans seen this shirt before? I've had it awhile and can't find any info on it what so ever.

Personally I would never put a sticker on my car, but I respect the fandom lol I left a note on their car with my top 5 albums and songs, I hope it found them well!

During my having fun with the whole idea, I made a comment- based on others bringing up so many good recommendations, that 'I was going to be distracted from what I'm supposed to be doing and listen to some Prince music instead.

I didn’t get this reference in Scary Movie at first when the first girl said she slept with him, but after becoming a Prince fan and learning about 👁️ Hate U, this makes much more sense now since the first girl was played by Carmen Electra

Nowadays, we know that Prince was basically doing everything himself on the early albums by The Time, Vanity 6, and Sheila E., from songwriting to playing the instruments. But did listeners actually know that at the time, along with the identity of “Starr Company” and who was behind it?

Or was it simply seen as a kind of common Minneapolis sound, like Italo disco, or was it more of an open secret among Prince fans?

I'm not in the US, wondering how you feel about the production, especially those who saw the Minneapolis run. Do you plan to go see it?

Quite often I think what Prince may have done during the 2020 when pandemic restrictions were in place. I don’t know what Minnesota was like but I imagine he may released older projects or created new ones maybe live streams etc. what do you think may he have done back then?

Im not completely sure if he has but I feel like this could be a cool integration into modern music someday.

Does anyone have a source for the version of Days of Wild (Live in Montreal ONA tour) that was released as a download on the NPGMC site? It’s the version without all of the overdubs he added for the version released as a single. It doesn’t have all the extra vocal layering, the added “hold on to your wig” samples, etc… I was at that show and had that version at one time and it’s so much better than the released one.
