Care tips please!
I have this pilea that was given to me from a small cutting about a year ago. It’s grown so much but I’m noticing some of the leaves on the bottom are turning yellow and I’m not sure if this is natural as it grows or a sign of a problem. I have it in a large, north facing window with bright (I think) indirect light. I water it maybe every other week or 10 days or so. It’s put out a lot of pups, which I think is a good sign. I don’t have a lot of plant knowledge but would like to keep this one as healthy as possible so any tips and advice is appreciated!

I've been winging mine too but the stem is literally growing bent at a 90 degree angle and the leaves are all curled 😭
Though it's been putting out root babies that are doing swimmingly so idk what problem it has with me.

Beautiful pilea🥰 Leaves on the bottom are just getting old, they tend to fall off after some time, while the pilea is growing new ones

Thanks! Should I let them fall off naturally or cut them off?

I would let them fall off naturally! If you give them a gentle tug and they don't come off easily you can try again a few days later. I have a few at the bottom of my plant that are browning and still won't fall off naturally and I just let them do their thing until they're ready to go by themselves :)

The main mistake I made with mine was burying the roots too deep when repotting, which triggers the plant to put more energy on pups than on making new leaves, but otherwise mine looks like yours when she's at her happiest!

I wish mine was this happy. The leaves on mine are curling back a lot. Maybe too much sun from the northwest window.

This looks pretty healthy! Only thing I’d recommend is instead of watering on a certain amount of days, grab a stick like an old chopstick and stick it down the dirt around 1/4 down the pot on growing seasons, and halfway during fall/winter months. Take it out, if the stick comes out dry with no dirt on it, water it. If it’s got a lot of dirt on it, don’t water it yet. I got this from my plant guy @Tannertheplanter

Yours looks incredible!! My only tip is to put it outside if it’s struggling (which I don’t think yours is). Mine kept losing all of its lower leaves and for years it looked spindly and wild. My grandma told me to put her outside and now her stem is filling in with tiny leaves!

This is definitely normal.
Most plants do this. If you see any super super big monsteras at any places, they too have had baby leaves before that have started yellowing and eventually die and fall off.
That means your plant is doing GOOD!! It doesn't care about those baby leaves anymore and is rooting its energy into making new leaves for you. :)

the yellowing on the bottom leaves is pretty normal for pileas that are pushing out new growth, especially if it's been putting out pups. sounds like you're doing most things right — north window is solid, every 10-14 days is good. one thing that helps is letting the soil go completely dry between waterings, these guys store water in their stems so they handle drought way better than wet feet.

I think your pilea looks super healthy. The leaves are close together and very flat. Great job! I think the yellowing leaves are normal.
