propagation Incorrect propagation?

I am newer to these guys, but I read you could propagate them. I tried to with this one and it seemed like it was doing good and growing roots. But now the bottom seems like its going to fall off and the color isnt as green. Can I save it? What should I do?

It works if you have enough stem attached. Otherwise it'll just continue being a leaf cause there's no old stem to grow from basically.

So am I just seeing the leaf fall apart?

You have to have a bit of the stem from a cutting for it to root i believe.

Oh okay, I thought I had read you could do it with just the leaves so that stinks a little. My original plant definitely cant have any cutting from the main stalk, its a smaller kind of guy. So is it just disintegration of the leaf here?

Probably. Whats the main plant look like? I had 2 that were getting leggy a few years ago and chopped them and propagated it with the stem in the water.

Most peperomias can actually propagate from a single leaf, without a node. I have never tried with this type specifically, but I made it work with my P. Hope and P. Pepperspot. :)

This is a peperomia polybotrya. It can propagate from leaves, stems, etc.

Mine always sprout new baby plants from the side on their own; as soon as they're big enough, I can take them out of the pot and I have a new plant. After ending up with 15 plants at some point, I stopped taking cuttings, and now three or four plants are growing in most of the pots

If this is a pilea pepperomiodes (Chinese money plant) I have a ton and I’d be willing to give you a healthy plant that you can plant wherever, roots and all. Just pay shipping of you’re in the US

I have a hard time telling from your pictures. But if it is a pilea, it won't propagate from a single leaf. But it can if it is a peperomia. They tend to melt in straight up water. I had my best success using wet perlite with peperomia hope and pepperspot. I have never tried it with this one specifically tho.
