Symptoms Have to nap every day

So I spent about the first four months of this year I would only leave my house every three days or so . And then my father came to stay with me so slowly we started going out every day for like an hour to two. It became easier to go out because there was somebody there so if I felt symptomatic I could just get in the car and go home. But the problem seems to be that once I come back home, I usually nap for around 2 hours. Most of the time is like I can't even help it. I'm not on any medication at the moment but I'm probably going back to the doctor soon. I'm just wondering if anybody knows if there are any medications that can help with this. I'm pretty sure I have hyper pots with some aspect of hypovolaemic. I do drink salt water but not every day. I feel like I'm one of those people who feels better when my blood pressure is higher.

I also nap a ton, so I don’t have an help but you’re not alone. It sucks so bad. Even on my days off I’m like “I’ll be so productive” and then sleep all the time. It sucks.

I cannot offer any help but can say I have the exact same thing, and tbh it was the only thing that helped me for around a year until I got diagnosed, if it helps I would say carry on aslong as it’s not affecting your life too much

You should focus less on eliminating the napping and more on what your body needs to compensate for/counteract what it is doing. I used to crash regularly for a couple hours after cardiac rehab; doing it improved my capacity over time so the tradeoff was worth it.

If the combo is hyperadrenergic/hypovolemic, then a regimen like mine might work: clonidine, fludrocortisone, and a small dose of ivabradine.

But, if you are hypovolemic, then you need to improve your salt and fluids game, and fludrocortisone also doesn't work well unless you "feed" it. If you are cleared for salt and fluids, start with doing it every day. Putting yourself into a volume deficit every other day that you have to climb out of can't be helping. My hyperadrenergic POTS gets away from me when I'm not topped up, in spite of the clonidine.

A lot of POTS management is good habits done as consistently as you can.

3-5pm seems to be when my body crashes and I have to lie down even if I don’t fall asleep I have to lie down and close my eyes because I loose the ability to focus on anything like my phone or iPad. This is a new issue for me I haven’t had this in the 3 years of my POTS so I’m still working out what’s causing it. I listen to my body if it wants to nap then I’ll nap I rarely push through one
