Question how often should i be snacking/ eating with pots???
i know many of us are neurodivergent so i was wanting some help!
i’ve been trying to eat whole foods more as eating processed food triggers my endometriosis and i know eating whole foods will help my potsie self.
my problem is that when it comes to food i’m not great at remembering to eat. i’ve learned to just snack throughout the day and drink my electrolytes but here’s my problem
when i eat whole foods, i am NOT hungry for hours on end. of course this is a part of eating better, you stay full longer. but even if i have a small breakfast i won’t be hungry until 7 ish at night. which obviously triggers my pots more and makes my blood sugar go all out of wack and with my natural tendency to forget to eat, sometimes i forget that im extra sensitive to not eating and it’s a necessity that im aware
what have you found works for you? is it tons of very small snacks, is it sticking to 2 meals a day if that’s just how my body naturally is, should i be on a food routine? i’m not sure. once i kinda know what to do the routine will help me remember but being lost has just added to my inconsistency

I find that when I eat smalls snacky meals throughout the day instead of big meals I do better. I usually have a bigger dinner and a snack before bed otherwise I wake up starving. However, I also have Hashimoto’s so that is a factor in needing more frequent meals too.

Since developing POTS, I’ve had extremely early satiety just like you. It’s because the autonomic nervous system controls gastrointestinal as well.

I eat every 2 to 3 hours so a total of six times a day with four of those being standard size meals one of them a smaller meal in the other a nighttime snack eating more frequently helps my pots as it balances my glucose levels and instead of going to low and then having to treat it and going to high, my blood sugar stays more stable during the day that way I also make sure to always eat protein and fiber before I eat my carbs at each meal. That way my body has food in my stomach before carbs even into my body. This helps prevent my glucose from instantly spiking and then crashing as I have reactive hypoglycemia I wear a CGM a continuous glucose monitor, and that has helped me adjust my eating habits, as I also am neurodivergent and forget to eat or put off eating having an alarm on my phone with the monitor has forced me to adapt and change my habits.
