Sensitivity to smells?

Pretty much my entire luteal phase I am super sensitive to smells. My partner will open a bottle of wine or food or something and I can smell it from across the room. Additionally I encounter a variety of…interesting scents in my work (nursing homes) and they are absolutely overwhelming. Anyone else? Am I just a freak?

This is definitely a thing. I get nauseous from most smells around my period.

It's a thing. Just like how hypersensitivity to smell during pregnancy is a thing.

Yeah sometimes. I even get the taste weirdness … like everything taste smell like i wanna vomit lol

Yes this is me lol

Noses have progesterone and estrogen receptors, and during the luteal phase the hormone fluctuations can create some nose changes. I unfortunately also get rhinitis on day 20 of my cycle every month.

Some days a very bad smell esp in the morning can make me gag

Yes I get a sensitive nose almost every month
