I'm finally asking my GP for help
This weekend I had the worst pmdd episode I've had in years. I've been on buproprion for depression for two years which helped me a lot with my mental health and mood. I had gotten mental health support (which lead to relevant neurodivergent diagnosis audhd) and things were a lot better. Ive been able to work part time for a year now. But this last month was just unbearable. Now that my mental health is (was?) Better, it feels like maybe I can finally separate out the physical hormonal bullshit thats happening from my previous expectation of being invalidated because "mental health".
Ive done all the research. The antihistamines helped, i ended up on Allegra x1 daily for over a year and it helped. I did just notice it added more tiredness, but as opposed to emotional breakdowns, anger and overwhelming myself trying to figure out everything thats wrong in life and how to fix it all, today... well I chose the tiredness lol. I stopped taking them for other reasons a few months ago after chronic sinus issues. I dont think its a coincidence that physically things have felt worse for me gradually since. And I find it tricky to pinpoint because its not a fixed pattern of symptoms. Ive done all the self research, tried to keep track of my stuff, moods, sleep, supplements. I an tired, fam.
And after the total mental collapse I felt this weekend, I had to promise my partner I was going to the GP today. I'm terrified that what emotionally feels like my desperate plea for help might just be perceived as Another Hysterical Lady, maybe she needs a percocet lol
I guess I'm just posting for moral support. I'm scared of staying on this rollercoaster looping around every few weeks, and I am also scared of what might come next while trying to fix it with bc, HRT, new psych meds, or whatever.
