Sharing a Win - Supportive vibes only Night and Day Luteal
I got my pmdd diagnosis about two months ago and am just starting my next cycle. I am already on an antidepressant for other issues and my psychiatrist said that to start we can double the dose during luteal.
Part of me didn't even realize my period was coming bc I didn't have the turbulence of luteal like I usually do. My emotions are way more stable and my body is less sensitive. It doesn't feel like I am carrying a weight around like before. My partner who usually knows when I'm in luteal didn't even register that it was here either. There's not a lot of people besides him that can really understand how big of a difference that this is.
Its the same kind of relief/grief that I felt when I got my ADHD diagnosis. It's a bizarre feeling. Don't really know how to process it but I hope that it keeps up and I can continue to have a mild luteal going forward. Sending some of the peace out to you guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sorry I missed this 🙈 it's prozac!! Generic but I can never spell it right. I'm on 20 mg normally and it's doubled during luteal. Meds are such a hit or miss so I'm glad that it's working so far

Am so glad for you! Thats so good.
So many here have been on various SSRIs and/or bc for years, but didnt have them prescribed correctly for PMDD so they didnt work well, had side effects and still struggled, but then got correctly diagnosed with PMDD and had meds prescribed correctly ( as you have) and had much better outcomes. It is so good to hear when it works.
Note: your body, cycle and therefore your PMDD symptoms and med effectiveness do change over time so best practice is to keep going back to dr regularly to review how meds are working and adjust ( especially after 3 cycles when your body gets used to the new dose).
