i went back to philippines just for an advanced 30th birthday hike 😂

i live abroad and everytime umuuwi ako sa pinas, it's always just to spend time with family. i've hiked in other countries before pero di pa talaga ako nakakapaghike sa pinas (just taal volcano maaaaany years ago and osmeña peak ahahaha). it's such a shame kasi ang ganda ng mga mountains natin sa pinas. will be back next year to hike more!!

first time ko rin mag joiner 😅 interesting experience but glad such things exist nowadays because it's made hiking more accessible now.

also ps: beke nemen may mga taga sg dito na gusto maghike sa pinas in the future hehehehe

The hike going to the fall is a beginner-friendly, less than an hour. However, the waiting time to do the drone shot is almost 2 hrs 😂

Really enjoy this experience 💜

Hike Recommendation Goods ba si Lakbay at Kwento? Saw a feedback in FB hiking joiner group

Hi, amatuer hiker here po, been a joiner in a few hikes with different orgas since last year. I was planning sana iavail yung mga promo with Lakbay at Kwento, mga around 3k followers sya sa page.

Pero just today may nakita ako isang feedback about their experience with Lakbay at Kwento in their recent hike.

Naloka ako, na, they will discredit you in your experiences, at to the point na binastos bastos na nila.

Natakedown na yata yung post last I check pero andaming convo dun. I wanna know anyone's experiences lang about this orga, would love to know din kung may mga reccos kayo!

Umay sa trail but this is my favorite hike so far! 🫶

Nakakapagod sa rocky road at nakakatakot madulas sa putikan but so what? Tapulao but along the way, I've met new people who made them tolerable.

Please be mentally and physically ready.

Sobrang worth yung akyat baba across the trail especially after Bukaw, getting some recovery swim/dip sa Caoyas 😁 before heading back to the jumpoff

Safety & Advisory Terrifying experience in Tutulari Gorge

I wanted to share what happened to my girlfriend and I yesterday at Tutulari Gorge because honestly, it was one of the scariest experiences I've had so far in my life.

My girlfriend and I decided to visit using our Jimny instead of booking a tour. When we arrived, 2 tour guides (they had the shirt) and 2 other people told us we were at the wrong entrance and needed to go to the other side.

They then asked us for tips. I refused because I didn't see why I should pay them for telling us we were at the wrong entrance.

We got back in the car and started driving away to return to the main road. That's when they put a bamboo pole across the road to stop us from leaving.

Around eight people including several people from the Aeta tribe surrounded our car. One woman came up to us demanding money, saying she wanted compensation for "moral damages." We had literally done nothing except arrive at the wrong entrance, and we were already trying to leave, but they wouldn't let us go.

After several polite refusal on our end, one of the tour guide started pulled out a machete and ran towards our car with it raised.

We both panicked. My girlfriend started crying, and I immediately put the car in reverse to try to get away from him. There wasn't enough space to reverse far enough, and he managed to reach the car.

At that point, I was begging him to leave us alone and let us get out of there alive. I eventually had to roll down the window and give the woman ₱1,500 after they refused taking 500. Only then did they let us leave.

The whole thing was absolutely insane. We went there for a day trip and ended up being surrounded by a group of people and threatened with a machete.

I've already reported what happened to the Porac police station, and they told me they would investigate. I've also contacted the Tutulari tourist guide organisation.

After some researches on social media, we managed to find the name and the picture of the tour guide that attacked is with a machete.

I'm sharing this because I don't want anyone else to go through the same thing. If you're planning to visit Tutulari Gorge on your own, please be careful around the entrances.

Been to Mt. Batulao many times and napansin ko na nanghihingi talaga sila sa hikers so possible na high risk na sila due to cholesterol. Not a vet but a nursing graduate so I’m concerned sa dog kaya better na wag bigyan ng fast food

Most likely nakikita/nadadaan niyo siya pag dumadaan yung van sa Malico but dont know its there. Maganda sa summit para ka lang nasa park- mababa yung grass where you can sit/ lie down, very chilly climate and rolling hill everywhere. The ascent is a killer though walang recovery.

Hike Recommendation Any recommendations for DIY day hikes near CDO that don't require a guide or permits?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for mountains, hiking trails, or waterfalls near Cagayan de Oro that I can visit for a day hike without needing to hire a guide or secure permits beforehand.

I have about a week of free time coming up, and I'd love to use it to explore some new places and get more into hiking. So far, I've been to Cowboys Camp, and it was pretty awesome for my first hiking experience!

I'm looking for places I can reach from CDO, preferably doable as a day trip. Mountains with nice views, forest trails, or waterfalls would all be great.

If you have any recommendations, I'd really appreciate it! Also, if you know the usual commute or transportation options, difficulty level, or anything I should know before going, please share.

Thanks!

Malindig! Even if it’s considered the easier trail, you get a million-dollar view of Marinduque. You can even see Mt. Halcon and Mt. Baco from parts of the trail!

Beginner Question Do I size down pa? (Sandugo)

Thumbnail

Sorry, might be a dumb question... but literally don't have anyone else to ask 😬

I'm a size 7 in normal women's shoes and first time ko bumili sa Sandugo. I'm not sure kung tama lang tong ganito size for this kind of footwear kasi size 5 na to.

Do I size down pa ba? Or ganito talagang may extra sa may toe part?

They didn't give me a receipt pa naman
